Hi guys, long time no speak.
I'm looking for some advise on an issue with a Tommy pinball.
A friend of a friend wants his pinball looking at, all of the playfield controlled lamps in the lamp matrix are out.
Every time I turn the machine it will blow the F2 fuse just above lamp filter capacitor.
The game will play fine, all switches working etc, also GI is all working too.
Currently I have checked by sight all wiring, connectors, bulb sockets, diodes etc and this all appears fine.
So my train of thought is the lights wont work because the fuse is blown, the fuse has blown because of a short, I don't think it is transistor related.
My plan of attack is to change the bridge rectifier relating to lamp filter capacitor and F2 fuse, if that doesn't fix the issue I will next change the capacitor itself.
What do you think, am I on the right track, any similar issues yourself???
Is it possible to test the bridge and cap to determine if they are faulty.
Thanks for reading.
