So it some kind of metal lane guide covering the complete right-hand side of the trunk?
The TOM I have at home does not have a second post next to the trunk.
According to IPDB, there shouldn't be an additional post:

I've witnessed a nasty incident when the ball got stuck between the trunk and the center ramp, the ramp then bended when the trunk rotated (it happened before probably, because the ramp broke from its lower mount).
Wonder what would happen to this construction when a ball gets caught between the trunk and the lane guide and the trunk starts to rotate, will the ball escape? Or will the trunk then perform a self-destruct?
