Ive recently aquired a TOM which ive been restoring and have
had a progressive worse issue with the GI plug on Power driver board.
The plug first appeared a grey color and all lights worked after not much
time turned on the plug appeared to darken and I lost the back box GI.
Again the plug has darkend agian and I'm starting to lose the playfield
GI lights. Ive always thought this happens after hundreds of hours of operation
versus only about the ten hours of operation since ive had machine.
Is the problem with the Power driver board? I can pull it and send to Clive
I just want to make sure thats the right course of action. Thanks

Common issue. Time frame doesn't always matter. Once it starts burning it goes quicker.

You need a new connector, and new connector pins on the board where it plugs onto.

Fixing it is the right course of action. No other problem other than connector and pins.

It's possible a previous owner replaced the connectors but not the pins on the board. Once the connector overheats, the plating on the pins on the PCB is compromised, and a new connector on *only* 1 side will eventually burn again due to the increased resistance.

The way to fix this would be to replace both sides of the connector.

Thanks for all the replys. Think I will send Baord off to Clive for new pins and a going
