Bally, 1995When Hocus Pocus is set ball is not always successfully pulled back from the side drain lane by the magnet under the play field and when ball is captured it sometimes bounces off rubbers flanking lane leading to the flippers and ends up draining. Is this a normal condition?
No, check your eddy boards and that the magnets are held on for the duration (several seconds). It should gold the ball for long enough that it stabilizes and falls into the inlanes. Every once in a while you'll get a drain, but thats not the norm.
Thanks, I'll try adjusting the eddy boards to hopefully get the ball detected earlier rather than later so it has a better chance of getting hauled back.

I just picked these up after having the same issue. I'd adjust the eddy boards only to have them crap out a few games later. Once I picked these up, the magnets fired correctly every time. They are double the price but its a maintenance free solution.
Those old eddy boards crap out often. The potentiometer should definitely be replaced. I had a bad transistor on mine also. After all the troubleshooting and soldering wish I would've just forked over the cash for the auto adjusting ones.
