Hello all,

I just recently upgraded my TOM to LEDs and the magnet stopped working. I'm fairly confident reading through schematics and fixing transistors so I figured this would be a piece of cake. When I looked at the wiring underneath the trunk I was a little shocked at the chop job the previous owner had done. Can someone help me untangle this mess so I can get it looking great again? See the images below.

Thanks

Ok, I figured out with a multimeter where the two sets of wires go.

One set is for the cube magnet which is obviously broken off. The other set is for the trunk light.

What I want to know since I'm already in here is what is the proper way of cleaning this up? Are most people using wire nuts like the ones here? What about the cube magnet connector? I would like to order parts but I'm not sure which.

Thanks in advance

Solder and heat shrink is the proper way of fixing any cut wires, etc. If done right, you shouldn't have to worry much about the connection since it would be a soldered joint. To me, wire nuts can make it look like a hack job. Also gives a bad impression of how the game has been maintained.

I like the solder blobs on the connector. Poor game.
