Yes, those prices are high. They should be in nice shape and come with a warranty for that much.
I live in Cali and I've seen BSD at $1500 from private sellers. A mint taxi was $1400 (may still be for sale if you are interested). HS2, don't know.
Anyway, I personally like HS2 and BSD over Taxi. There is more to do in both.
HS2 is a crowd favorite. The toy is one of the coolest ever. It can be set up to play easy or hard. I have not met a person who doesn't like it. Popular with newbs.
BSD can be set up to be hard or, if you prefer, hard. One of the hardest DMDs ever made if you use the factory lightning flippers. Also has one of the coolest toys with Mist ball. Really one of the best games ever made for high skill players.
