I would do it.
Firstly a playfield swap is not as daunting as people make it seem.
Secondly, as you've owned the game for over a decade you would certainly get back any money you put into it.
Thirdly, you want to do it.
The one thing you need to consider is that the game will not play the same. I restored my TAF and never liked the game after I did. I just didn't like the ball movement. I've also done a BSD and WH2O but restored the games before ever playing a single ball. My AFM I did because I feel the same way you do about your TZ. I wanted to pay it the respect I feel it deserves.
It does play differently but not as much as TAF did.
