So, I'm really torn.
Having been a tech/operator in the 90's, I can not STAND mylar. Fogging up, bubbling up.. made a game look like crap. Even if the game WAS properly cared for.
Just under a year ago, I got my TZ playfield back from being restored. Looked - still does look - fantastic! I now have over 1000 balls played on it, and every 300 balls played I took ramps off and did a quick clean/wax. Now, for the 350 game count, I'm doing a more thorough cleaning.
While doing a preliminary wipedown, I felt my cloth snag on something, and so I had to peer closer. This is what I see:

Oddly, I'm not so much angry as I am just depressed. With this game, it's always *something*. But, something happened during a game - hell of a multiball! - to cause this scratch/gouge. I did a closer inspection of the rest of the PF, and other than one insert that's starting to ghost (which, oddly, no inserts were ghosting BEFORE I had it cleared), everything else is fine - flat and smooth.
So, now, I'm paranoid.
Do I cut a small piece of mylar to protect this one bit, or just cash in and mylar the whole effin' field?
Thoughts?
