You know what? That is indeed Lorena Bobbit. Well damn, I'm done inserting humorous pertinent pics into posts. ZenTron has set the bar so high I don't think it can ever be beat. That right there is so brilliant I am damn near crying.

When is your ex selling your pins ?

Please have her list them on Pinside. She can use your account. You won't need it anymore.

If a man posts something on an internet forum and his wife isn't around to read it, is he allowed to do it?

    #19 3 years ago

Him: With a big smile he hands his Wife a bouquet of roses, "Hi Honey, I bought you some roses. Just because."
Wife: Pulls her glasses down her nose and looks at him over the top, "What did you buy this time?"
Him: Looking at her shoes, "Nothing," pauses, "much."
Wife: Not taking his nonsense, "What?"
Him: Still not looking up, "Just a Alien LE, new in box. But I got a really good deal on it."
    Wife: "Seriously?"
Him: Nods his head up and down, not saying anything.
Wife: "You remember that $400.00 Prada Handbag you gave me grief about?"
    Him: "Um, yeah?"
Wife: "I'm going to put a brick in it and either beat you or your new pinball with it."
Him: Some choices are hard to make, "Please don't hurt my new pinball."

This is why I believe in having 3 different bank accounts for married couples...his, hers, and joint.

One of my friends just purchased a new machine last week, his first pinball machine. When we were unboxing it, she was like "you spent HOW MUCH on this thing?"...by the end of the night, she was the one playing on it the most.

We do this and it's really great. Our joint account covers all the bills and most of them are automatic so we just have to keep an eye on things, plus it covers the vehicles, trips, etc... joint stuff. We both direct deposit amounts respective to our incomes and we both have our own accounts. We can of course access each others accounts in case something should ever happen where we need to but we each have full control over what we want to spend our money on in our individual accounts.

I have no complaints when she goes out shopping or spends the day at the casino... she has no complaints when I go and buy a pinball machine... other than... "just where the heck do you think you're going to have room to put that thing!" It also helps that she likes to play pinball as much as I do.

Never understood the separate account thing for married people. We have always had a joint acount and always will. I discuss all pinball purchases with my wife and there have been times when she has suggested we can't afford it and i am fine with that. She spends all her time looking after our 4 young kids, i spend a lot of time working. So if we had separate accounts, hers would have $0 as she has no income. Plus by having a joint account, linked to the home loan, any $$$ in there offsets the interest paid, if we had separate accounts, this wouldn't be possible with our bank at least. So more interest saved = more avaialble for luxury spending.

    #26 3 years ago

Yeah, in the case of a single income household, I would not see separate accounts working.

My wife suggested we buy me a Star Wars LE for my birthday in 2 weeks.

She also surprised me with my very first pin as a Christmas present in 2004 100% on her own with money she had slowly accumulated over a few years.

    She's a keeper

The amounts deposited in the personal accounts don't have to be respective to the incomes of the partners. Just make the amounts the same for both.

If she did I'd grab them both and move to Colorado city lol. I'm indeed a very lucky guy. That first pin was a Nib LOTR. I'm a huge fan and have always loved pinball so she knew exactly what to get me. Probably the most thoughtful gift I've ever received.

It is not all good when both people on the team are into pinball. As my wife likes to say, we both always have our foot on the gas...

Me "Should we buy that one?"
    "What are you waiting for?"
Me "Where will we put it?"
"Stop asking stupid questions and go get it before someone else does!"

    lol

My wife is the sensible one when it comes to us buying machines. It annoys me, but she keeps my buying urges in check

Why are people calling this man lucky...???...he just didn't settle for some goofy girlfriend to make his wife...so I don't think you are lucky sir...I do however applaud you for taking the time to get to actually get to know your girl before getting married...good on you.............Joey

Because we had separate ones before we got married, I don't see any need to change it (yet). I have my car/insurance payments through my account I don;t need to deal with hers.

For us we both work hard for our money and while our household is fully combined through the joint account we also both like to personally feel the personal rewards of our efforts.

It's a lot different in a 2 income situation. Especially in a case like mine where we married in our mid-30s. We both came to the marriage with our own assets, our own homes, retirement accounts, etc. We keep a joint account for kid related expenses (tuition, lessons, clothing etc.). We keep another joint account for incidental expenses.

I pay the mortgage, the insurance, most of the entertainment expenses and house upkeep, as well as the bulk of the private school tuition bills. She pays for food, utilities, and cell phones (I take the lion's share of the bills because I make about 4x what she does). We have literally never fought about money... she wants a new bag, shoes, show tickets or whatever else, she can go buy them if she has the money. I bought a Porsche and a Corvette within a week of each other without any consultation with her other than discussing parking arrangements. If I want a new pin and have the money to afford it, I buy it. Likewise any of my other hobbies... there's nothing to have a discussion ABOUT. It's my spending money and I can spend it as I see fit.

No response from OP - the OP has clearly been:

    1. beaten to death
    2. fixing his damaged pins
    3. hiding underneath the car in the garage
    4. meeting with his attorney
    5. living in a "Stern" box down by the river
    6. having surgery to remove that shoe from his a$$
    7. re-planting the gardens in the front & back yards
    8. accompanying her shopping in her new convertible
9 or stuck on the LA freeway.

    Good luck OP.

The great garage war of 2017 has begun in our house. My second floor gameroom has started to overflow into the living room and we're currently in a dispute over garage space. With two NIB games on the way that'll also go into the living room talks should speed up. If that doesn't work my fall back plan is to urinate in the garage to claim my territory. Never stop, never stopping!
