Just recently picked up a NOS Williams playfield for my cyclone. It’s perfect straight from Williams years ago. Will only be in my HOU game room. Once I make a decision on what to do I will begin the swap.

Should I bring it to an auto shop and have them lay some clear coat? Or should I just leave it be all original? I don’t think I want to use rattle can at home because I don’t want drips or anything like that.

I’m torn. I think I want to leave it all original. This game holds much sentimental value to my wife and I. It’s not going anywhere so I’m not concerned about resale.

Thanks for the input

Not an auto shop.

Take it or send it to someone who has experience with pinball playfields.

I'd just wax it, enjoy it, and keep it clean.

I doubt it'll get played enough in a home environment to get any substantial wear.

(Cyclone is an incredible pin. Our's is the last to go if we ever had to let any go.)

Clear it by a pro. Cost you a couple hundred bucks and look gorgeous!

If you are keeping game long term - go with the best.

Appreciate all the feedback. I think I’m going to keep it stock and as I’ve done with my other swaps just a nice waxing before I assemble! Thanks all! Now time to get to work

The need to overdo things these days is out of control. Just assemble and enjoy it

If you love the game, and put that much effort into it you'll want to keep it clean, and pristine for years to come. A decade from now I bet it'll look just as good as the day you finish it.

Have fun!

Personally I wouldn't have that beauty clearcoated if they paid ME two hundred bucks.

I'm clear coating mine only because I had to do a lot of touch up work on it.

... and I'm good with that. (wish I didn't have to but oh well)

I was already leaning towards keeping it stock. HOU so I think it’ll be great. Thanks again for everyone’s feedback
