The drill-down on my TNG continues. New problems arise, and I knock em down!
But I'm a little stuck on this one.

SOMETIMES, like one-in-five, the pin resets when the Borg shoots. No problem on solenoid test. The power driver board is a new (less than one year) Rottendog.

I think the Borg reset seems to occur when I am kicking multiball butt and racking up jackpots, if that is at all helpful.

But I'm unsure how to troubleshoot.

Thanks in advance!

First thing to test is the voltage at your wall socket.

115V minimum needed for most games--but for 4-flipper games like STTNG: 117V minimum.

How-to is shown in the below link in 4.8.3.

If that's not it, you'll have to then methodically follow each step in the guide in sequence and rule each one out one-by-one.

The Z-connector is a known trouble spot on that particular game as well...so it never hurts to eliminate it at will.

Lots of helpful responders here to assist.

Good luck:

Every Rottendog board I've ever put into a TZ or sttng has had reset issues. I would swap that rottendog board with your shadow board. Both games might be stable after that.

Whelp, tried the APC line regulator with no apparent help ( amazon.com link » ). Still glad I got the regulator for other purposes, but dammit, I want my TNG functioning!

I'll do the Shadow swapout next...

Swap is a good idea...more data...
