Hello

My TNA will not boot.

Checked all fuses

Checked all wires and plugs

Display does have power, but says no signal for a brief bit, then nothing.

No signs of booting. We do measure 5V and 12V on a few plugs in backbox.

Power Supplies seems to produce correct Voltage.

I do have all White lights on playfield, and backbox lights are On.

Thanks!

Hey Scott,
Double check that your PC is on first. There shoudl be a little blue light on the PC (rightmost board in the backbox). If it does not have the blue light on, there is a little power switch button on the side of the PC circuit board. Just click that and it will boot the game back up. I also wonder if the CMOS battery died...
Thanks,

Maybe CMOS battery died?

Does not respond to a code update

testing CR2032 now for 3.0V or more.....stand by

#5 1 year ago

2.82V

So, probably not enough?

Will replace that now

#6 1 year ago

Yeah... That looks like a dead CMOS battery. You can get them on Amazon and will plug right in.

This should boot right back up after the battery is replaced. I tested this back when we were evaluating PCs for the game. Let me know how it goes!

Right....it is dead

Going to store "Batteries Plus" right now to get a larger size Lithium 3V battery

Probably like an AA size thing.

At what voltage is a cr2032 battery dead?

A brand new 3 volt battery (say CR2032 for instance) has about 3.3 volt. when the battery drops down to 2.8-2.7 volt it is considered dead.

It's really cool that you can post a question about a problem with a pinball machine and the freaking designer of that pin gets back to you and has an answer to you in less than an hour with directions and troubleshooting. Please let us know if the C2032 fixes it. Note that if you have a digital bathroom scale there is probably already one in it.

Hey Guys,
Can someone do me a favor and take a close up pic of the connector on your CMOS Battery? I am going to look for a plug and play Amazon battery for you guys. I do not have a game with me here at PBL at the moment. Thank you!

I've got several pics of the CMOS battery for ACNC - would that do? Also have Amazon part number used to replace it.

Here's a pic of the original CMOS in ACNC and the Amazon link follows below:

For the record, I also verified the polarity of the replacement CMOS battery on the connector as I'd read there had been concerns with other purchases of replacements.

Awesome! I ordered a couple of those for myself to test out. Thanks for the link!

So I changed the battery and it worked for a week or Two.....

Then my settings and High score are not saved on reboot

Bought another battery and same thing!

Do I need a new computer or what Scott?

Every time I power On the game, it boots and plays fine but high scores and my settings are back to default.

WTF?

Try and update your code. I have never seen this. The battery has nothing to do with your high scores and settings. Something may be corrupted in your game code. Just refresh it with a clean install.

No

You can unplug the battery

Game reacts like mine.

Game boots and plays fine without a battery and settings do not save.

I think a pin or solder on a pin for my battery is damaged

Dead or weak battery plugged in ≈ no boot

Missing battery ≈ boots and plays but won't save settings
