Hopefully this makes sense but, if you Light Battle Again, then Start/Collect the 1st April Hurry Up and then stack a MB with your next episode, you can often burn through your next two April Hurry ups during that MB, especially if you focus on the APRIL target during your Ball Save time (and avoid using your Battle Again so that your next APRIL "award" will be the Hurry Up. Generally speaking, I like to focus on stacking episodes with MBs anyway, so as long as I semi-focus on hitting that APRIL target during the MB, I find myself making my way through APRIL Hurry-Ups.
The closest Ive been to Cowabunga was getting all requirements except for Final Battle and then starting Final Battle on my final ball, which meant I had to survive Final Battle to be able to move onto Cowabunga, I did not survive.
