Had a little pinball repair excitement last night.
With the help of a fellow pinsider, I've been trying to get my TMNT's dmd to work again. After some testing, we found the the 68v pin on the power supply board wasn't putting out enough juice. The board went through some attempted repairs, but there wasn't any change in the output.
Yesterday, I was provided with a new replacement power supply board to see if that would fix the issue. Got it all hooked up, flipped the switch, and immediately two connectors on the cpu board went up in flames!
I got the fire out quickly and then killed the power. The cpu board doesn't appear to have any damage, but I haven't done any further testing.
Crazy stuff. I feel like this is some sort of repair milestone, so I thought I would share. Luckily I didn't burn the house down. My poor turtles just don't seem to want to have a scoreboard anymore.
