Which NFL player was a Super Bowl MVP, but his jersey number was retired for another player that did not win a Super Bowl.

    #18 4 years ago
    Quoted from BigT:

Odin, did he win the MVP for WASHINGTON?

    No, not Washington.

    #34 4 years ago
    Quoted from RJW:

18 was already retired when Manning won MVP with the Broncos I believe. They made an exception letting him wear it.

The player I am talking about was a Super Bowl MVP before his number was retired for another player.

    Last hint.

Stock photo from his Super Bowl MVP winning performance.

Now, which NFL player won Super Bowl MVP on the losing team?

    #40 4 years ago
    Quoted from rwmech5:

    Was that Doug Williams?

    No.

    And no.

    OK, one more hint.

    17-0

    #45 4 years ago

Griese was #12 and Morral was #15 and neither was a Super Bowl MVP.

Fk it, this has gone on long enough.

And that, my friends, is the sports trivia stumper I came up with all on my own.

    This one should be easier.

Who won Super Bowl MVP on the losing team?

    #50 4 years ago
    Quoted from CrazyLevi:

I don’t remember the player but it was a d-lineman or linebacker on the cowboys when the colts beat them in 1971. Terrible game with tons of turnovers and awful offense.

Yes, but for the longest time it seemed to be one of the closest and most competitive Super Bowls.

Recently we have been blessed with some amazingly close Super Bowls as opposed to those one sided blowouts of the 80s and 90s. And I'm glad we got the last one in before all this happened.

    #53 4 years ago
    Quoted from CrazyLevi:

It was a CLOSE super bowl, but it wasn’t a good one. It was a battle of ineptitude.

Yes, it was. But it was also the first Super Bowl won on a last second field goal. lol. Like I said, I'm just glad they got the last one in before they shut everything down.

This recent chain of great Super Bowls seemed to start when John Elway's Broncos beat Brett Favre's Packers. That could go down in my mind as the greatest of them all. Eli beating the Patriots the first time is right up there too.

Doug Williams. He threw a pretty spiral.

Perhaps the wrong answer, but he did.

    #59 4 years ago

I believe he also played professional football for Los Angeles for a while.

    #61 4 years ago

I had thought the Express won a championship, but I was getting pretty high around that time.

    #64 4 years ago

Zone Improvement Plan. Sorry, I cheated.

    I do remember these though.

    Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Change it to "quarter in a super bowl" and it's got to be doug Williams!!!

I watched that game with my dad. At halftime it was like what are we going to do now? Like most Super Bowls in the 80s.

    #69 4 years ago

Just checked on my elderly neighbors. They are doing just fine and the Mr. was smart enough to stock up before all the madness. We love our little neighborhood here.

    #71 4 years ago

I remember watching a playoff game, I believe it was Tampa Bay Vs. The Rams (not sure) and Doug Williams threw the most beautiful long bomb in a perfect spiral I had ever seen.

    Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:

What is the only mammal other than humans that have sex for pleasure?
    dolphins

No wonder they can't win a Super Bowl.

What do you get if you spell Moorpark backwards?
