Zigmund Adamski, a 56 year old miner in Yorkshire disappeared in 1980 on his way to the store. His body was found 5 days later on top of a 10 foot pile of coal 20 miles away. USA and England.... although technically not a declared war, the "Pig War of 1859" was a big deal up here in Washington state.
An American farmer shot an English farmers pig that was in his yard. It escalated and the British sent 3 warships. The Americans promptly built a fort and installed 14 cannons, and the British responded with 5 warships mounting 70 cannons. This went on for 12 years!

Fortunately no shots were ever fired as there was a "large quantity of alcohol available" and the men all drank together while the commanders traded insults.
