I had an idea for the second, I was really close but no cigar, I had to google it.

    Quoted from txx3ddq442:

Haven't scrolled through all of this, but I'd go with Denver.

Close, but the n is a right hand key, and all others are left.

Like Denver, the answer is a state capital.

    #153 4 years ago
    Quoted from ImNotNorm:

Honolulu? Is it even considered a major city?
    This is a tough one

Yep! And I agree it’s a bit of a stretch. I could’ve been more specific and said a top 50 metro area, which it is.

    #155 4 years ago
    Quoted from ImNotNorm:

    So it's not Honolulu?

No, you got it. It is Honolulu — all of those letters are typed with your right hand on the keyboard.

An earlier guess of Denver was incorrect.

    Quoted from chad:

Pineapple on pizza dates to 1962 Ontario , Canada at a local pizza joint as an experiment.

    An experiment gone horribly wrong.

What was the last line uttered in the original Star Wars movies.....

    #158 4 years ago

Not sure about now, but when I was a kid, there was a trivia question about major cities in the USA with the highest elevation.

Denver was # 1, and yeah, hear mile high city all the time.

Always surprising to me Atlanta was #2.

And it makes sense, so many major cities are right near the coast.

    #159 4 years ago
    Quoted from ImNotNorm:

What country has a Kalashnikov on their flag?

2nd hint. This is the flag.

IMO you drained too fast. This topic has been all over the place and pretty entertaining.

Yeah.... Maybe when you were a kid and some of the western cities were smaller..... There are quite a few major cities at higher elevation than Atlanta: Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Phoenix to name a few.

I agree and am going to PM him. This thread is to be whatever anybody wants it to be. Sports is often the usual go to. I probably made a mistake in starting it with a sports trivia, but it is the one I stump my friends all the time. I want this to be what you are interested in and the ironic trivia associated with it. This thread is keeping me engaged. I am surprised that we haven’t had any music trivia yet. Please keep them coming!!

.... And to really make you question everything you learned; the highest major US city with a population over 500k isn't even Denver; it's Albuquerque NM, which has it beat by 32 ft.

But if you've been to Denver since they legalized Marijuana, it might still be considered the highest......

    The answer is Mozambique.

I guessed Zimbabwe before I googled it.

My wife literally cannot even name the continent that a country is in, its so whack. I am so interested in it and wow, she’s got no care in the world for geography.

Also I am very surprised that we haven’t had any pinball trivia...Odin you should a few.

    A man a plan a canal Panama

Every lyric in this song is a palindrome:

    Quoted from BigT:

    any music trivia

I used to love "don't forget the lyrics". Beat Shazam, not so much.

About to crash for the night, but yeah, I could go for some music lyrics or artists later, or song titles soon. I would start one now, except "time for me to fly".

    My favorite riddle. No cheating!

In a room there are 53 bicycles. There is also a table in the middle of the room. A dead man with a bullet hole in his head is slouched in a chair, face down on the table.

    What happened?

    #173 4 years ago

    Music Trivia:

Only 2 artists have ever had a single album top the sales charts 2 years in a row. One is Michael Jackson with "Thriller". The other artist has done it TWICE. Who is it?

    #174 4 years ago
    Quoted from hwyhed:

Why is colonel spelled like that, but pronounced differently?!

Because it sounds too much like "Colon"?

    Took me a second.....

Someone caught him cheating playing poker and shot him. The 53rd "bicycle" is the extra card he was cheating with.

What African country is the only one that was never colonized?

    #179 4 years ago

I remembered the rite of passage of convincing my younger siblings to play a game of "52 pickup" with me.... And then just throwing the cards at them and leaving.

    Music Trivia:

For some reason Meatloaf comes to mind.

    #181 4 years ago

This has to be super easy.

First song ever played on MTV

(I miss the days when it was all music videos, then for a while VH-1 was good also)

    Buggles

    #187 4 years ago

    Strike two.....

You'd think that for this to have happened, it would have happened at a time when most people bought their music on vinyl/tape/CD instead of streaming it or just buying/pirating digital copies of individual songs....

    .... But you'd be wrong.

    #188 4 years ago
    Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:

correct, and I love that song.

Don't like many cover songs,I think they sound butchered .Do like the 'Presidents of the United States of America' (POT USA) cover of that song.

The group 'Cake' did a good job with 'I will survive' performed by Gloria Gaynor.

    #189 4 years ago
    Quoted from ImNotNorm:

What African country is the only one that was never colonized?

    Total guess ... Kenya?

The flag one was tough. I thought Uganda or another former dictatorship. I’ll have to look up why Mozambique has that on their flag.

More trivia ... I think it was another big milestone video on mtv, like 20 years ago. I remember the hoopla - plus thinking that mtv didn’t play music videos anymore even back then!

Googled it and it was the one millionth video when they played it in 2000.

The lead singer of the buggles was Trevor Horn, who became a huge music producer and a member of Yes. The other buggles member joined Asia as their keyboardist. Thanks Wikipedia.

    Ethiopia must be one?
Lots of national parks and never heard an english accent on tv shows, lol

    Ethiopia is correct!

It's considered "never colonized" despite Italy's occupation from 1936–1941 because it did not result in a lasting colonial administration.

    Better question....
What was the second video played?

Dire Straits - money for nothing?

Im only guessing that because the song starts out saying "I want my MTV"
