    Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:

    Sunday I watched ESPN 8 and saw many of the previous years events. Saw things I never imagined took place and all I can say is ... Holy Schmoley the Ocho is Mucho Great. Some highlights included:
    Diving competition where you pose in the air like you are going to do a bellyflop
    People chasing a wheel of cheese down a steep hill
    Frog jumping
    Catching catfish with bare hands
    Golden tee championship
    Tetris championship
    Jelle’s Marble Runs (marbles racing was fantastic)
    Dodgeball (5 person)
    Dodgeball with juggling
    Juggling
    Light saber fencing
    Axe throwing
    Knife throwing with real people on spinning wheel for real
    Hundreds of events come up from time to time so the broadcasts may be different every time you catch it. The 2 announcers for tetris were so excited that 30 min flew by. Pinball would stack up well against these other "sports" but the national; attention span is probably limited to half an hour.

    I think what it really boils down to is the announcing duo. If you got a good due, or trio....they alone can make whatever event their calling amazing.

    I remember listening to Jerry 'the King' Lawyer and Jim Ross announcing wrestling back in the day.

    They could call a paint drying competition and make it sound action packed and interesting.

    Wow, he's never recorded a #1 hit?
    If that's true, that's gotta be the answer.

    That’s the correct answer!

    Interesting fact about Springsteen I just read that I didn't realize (not surprising as I know little about the Boss). He wrote and originally recorded Blinded By The Light.

    Crazy that another artist then covered it and took it to #1 considering he hasn't had one himself after all the popular songs he recorded.

    And 2 more.... To go with my Avatar....

    2. What iconic car did he drive?

    1. Can't remember the exact name, but at the burger place/grill he worked at, they had to wear the chef's hat with the little pig nose in front.
    2. 1967 Camaro RS/SS (or perhaps you were referring to the wood-panel Ford Country Squire station wagon? Hey, some people have weird icons....)

    Just like every one ever made, that thing was absolutely COVERED in cigarette burns. Had to completely clean/derust/rebuild the joystick, new dust covers, new buttons all around, new t-molding, clean all the wood and scrub the overlay to death with steel wool/novus. But was worth it. Turned out pretty nice for an original.

    1. You accidentally

    2. You haven't
    played solitaire with real cards in years.

    3. You have a list
    of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of

    4. You e-mail the

    5. Your reason for
    not staying in touch with friends and family is that they
    don't have e-mail addresses.

    6. You pull up in
    your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is
    home to help you carry in the groceries.

    7. Every commercial
    on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen

    8. Leaving the house

    20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic
    and you turn around to go and get it.

    10. You get up in
    the morning and go on line before getting your
    coffee

    11. You start
    tilting your head sideways to smile.

    12 You're reading
    this and nodding and laughing.

    13. Even worse, you
    know exactly to whom you are going to forward this
    message.

    14. You are too busy
    to notice there was no #9 on this list.

    15. You actually
    scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on this
    list

    ~~~~~~~~~~~AND
    FINALLY~~~~~ ~~~~~~~
    NOW U R LAUGHING at
    yourself.
    My favorite Manfred Mann is "For You", and it was also written by Bruce.
    Springsteen wrote some very good songs, he just did not sing them well in my opinion.
