I drive a shitty truck. I'm picking up 2 machines tomorrow and would rather take them both at once than make 2 trips. I've seen pics of guys with them stood on end in the bed. I assume I should be using ratchet straps. Any tips or recommendations? I'd rather ask first and reduce my risk of something nasty happening

    Thanks!

Long bed, short bed ? I have a short box and have hauled 4 pins 400 miles and two pins 500 miles .

I place a towel under the folded head. Wrap it with two movers blankets. You can rent these for $5 per dozen from uhaul or just buy a couple (recommended). Wrap the game with shrink wrap. Remove legs. I place the front leg protectors upside down and reinsert the leg bolts to protect the edge. I then place the game on its back like it is designed. Place the ratchet strap over the top across the leg protectors between the leg bolts. They will protect the game and keep the strap from slipping off. Also, run a ratchet strap horizontally to keep the pins tight up against the headboard of the truck to keep them from sliding.
    Drive carefully.

Measure the width of your bed...I was able to lay them flat side by side & threw some blankets/cardboard in between so they didn't get damaged

Do not move them on legs with the back box on is rule #1. Fold up the games with stetch wrap and cardboard, strap the games down tight. If the heads come off put them in the cab.

Im envisioning that LOTR, that was Rommy wasn't it?

@Mr.Bronson....Id put them on their butts and strap them up good with ratchet straps and put a good amount of foam everywhere to cushion (assuming they are nicer cabs)

Thanks everybody! It's a Ford Ranger, so I shouldnt be able to get them side by side. I'm going to use a bunch of ratchet straps and line them up, one behind another on end.

my buddy moves 2 pins in his ford ranger all the time, you should be good to go.

I used to drive a GMC Canyon (similar size to Ranger) and had to put 2x4s across the wheel wells in the box to be able to fit two machines in side-by-side. Otherwise I would have had to put them on end.

It was similar to this except my box liner actually had notches for the 2x4s to sit in.

If not removing backboxes slide pins in with 1 head forward and other head opposite of the other, gives you more room from rubbing each other.

4'x8' bed. I went to buy one came home with two. Long drive in crazy rush hour traffic. I didn't want to block my visibility so I brought them home flat. image.jpgimage.jpg

Sweet truck! My pin hauler is a 58 3200 big window.

Thanks! That's what this is, a '58 Chevy Apache 3200. This one's been all over the western U.S. picking up stuff (mostly pins.) I think I've maxed out at 6 EMs back there.
