Quoted from zarco:Mine is 120 sq-ft which sounds really small but from floor to peak of
ceiling is 16'. There is a sleeping loft (just under 8' square).
The front 7' is an open, cathedral ceiling with a 120
year old original coal (used for wood) caboose stove. Full bathroom
with shower and toilet. Kitchen has lots of cabinets and sink (RV) but
no room for a stove. Microwave works fine. The front looks like the prow of a ship
with a small deck, all under an extended roof. Total of
a dozen windows. Interior is sheet rock and stained wood.
Front is knotty pine. Pretty unusual but turned out really nice.
Built very strong to survive e-quakes. Man cave!
Kept it to just under 120 sq-ft to make local planning dept
happy. It has a full concrete block foundation. Lots of rebar.
I'd encourage folks that are thinking of doing this to check
with local laws. Not always necessary to build one as a
pseudo-mobile home.
