I am selling a machine to help pay for kids college. It is an IJ that I restored a number of years ago. This one is going to be hard to let go! But I currently have five machines and promised my wife that when college started knocking at the door I would narrow it down to three. Right now I have MM, CV, WoZ, TZ, and IJ. So for now it is my IJ that must go. After that the decision gets even harder!
Looking for advice on timing of selling my machine as well as the price to sell it at. I thought I would list out what is going on with the machine and maybe you guys could give fair ranges of value. I do know I want to sell the machine to someone that can spell pinball. I don't want to get a call two weeks after the sale saying something isn't working. Just isn't worth it to me. Peeps on this board understand how these machines work.
Here is the info on the machine:
- New side art stickers (honestly I forget the source name, BNR?) Something like that. I got the last set a longtime back. They look really nice.
- Bill Davis Cleared playfield (both sides). I had him do the backside. More work during the swap, but really worth it!
- LED's
- Pinball Pro speaker system
- New Coindoor
- Mike Chestnut gold plated everything (even the bolt heads and the brackets holding the head on)
- New plastic set was put on too
- Lost plastic w/really cool see thru plexiglass (includes light bar behind it). So the whole back lost plastic is lit up. Cool mod.
- Some other mods including a set of Stone/Arc/Grail for on top of the machine.
The machine looks really nice. The only issue that stands out with machine is a wrinkle with the sticker around one of the back legs. I honestly am going to have the new buyer deal with it though. It is not creased, so I am sure it could corrected. To the best of my knowledge I am the second owner. I don't know the history of the machine well before I got it. I have owned the machine for over 10 years and it has not seen a lot of play over the last five years for sure.
I do live in the Chicago area. One idea I had was selling it around expo time. I would LOVE this to be a local sale. I think that is the best way to sell a machine.
Any thoughts/advice would be welcome!
