Thanks guys, very much appreciated ☺️
So I finally got around to getting some gasket material last weekend for the tunnel window. I ended up buying a roll of 1/32 tannish color. Regarding color, it was kind of a delima because pictures of this game on the web showed either black or white. I assumed black to be the color(why I don't know), but then realized that the tannish color might contrast to the black circle around the window.
Based on the thickness of the original gasket, I would need 3 layers of the 1/32 gasket material. Using the circle cutter, I made 3 circles with the OD 4.71". All 3 fit like a glove. For the inside cut, .375 from the edge. Also, this stuff is dense!, so I cut from both sides, easier that way.
Regarding the tunnel window itself, it is the original one, though you might not be able to tell from the before pic.
With exception of the plastics and two gates, the pf is populated.
Next up: bottom relay board removal.
Wow that looks really good. What a difference from the before and after. Well done Your tan gasket look great. I also assumed that the gasket for the tunnel was black. After seeing your gasket I may have to rethink that. Thanks for posting your restoration. I haven't start my Space Time restoration yet, but can only hope my looks half as good as yours.

I'm sure it will look great. Just take time and put some thought on it. If you have any questions while restoring it, ask away. ☺️
Since the pf is finished, this thread is technically done. But I may as well follow through until the game is up and running.
So with the bottom relay board on the bench, I cleaned the relay contacts and adjusted the gaps as needed. By cleaning, I mean using a Dremel with the #428 wire wheel. While I was at it, I cleaned the coil magnets, and contact plates with alcohol. After that I removed all of the components and vacuumed the board. All considering, it's in pretty good shape and cleaned up well. Replaced the power cord, and the 4 fuse holders. As posted in other threads, these Bally fuse holders were in terrible shape and breaking apart. I will say this much about the replacement ones-pieces of cheap crap by the looks of them.
So the lockdown bar mechanism had a nasty layer of rust on top of it, so I soaked it in Evaporust along with the shooter assy for little under 24 hours. And yes, it DOES work.
Yesterday I cleaned the three metal rail guides. Instead of being chrome, they have a matt type finish. Too bad, chrome would have really made them pop on the pf.
Know this is an old thread, but hadn’t read it since sending pics of my game. Note on the lock down mech and ball rail guides. I polish them with grinder buffing wheel and they come out almost with a chrome look finish.
I know this is an old thread now, but thank you so much for documenting all of this fine work! I recently acquired a well abused Time Zone myself and am in the process of restoration. Seems like the play field wear is consistent with what you had as well. Great tips on the gaskets and painting techniques!
