Hooray!!!
Quoted from Vic_Camp:Hopefully tonight you can play some pinball.
Hopefully! It's been since before I got sick in November since I've played.
Vic when I have the welcome party you're invited!
I have thoroughly enjoyed following this thread, that looks like it's gonna' be a great place to hang out. Have fun and thank you for sharing.
You were the last straw that made me start (almost finished) on my basement.
Why not box in those lolly columns?
OK, OK...for the columns, didn't box them because I figured it's one more thing that could get knocked into and I'd rather have one less thing that could drywall dinged...I had the columns done with the same epoxy that's on the floor.
BIG BIG thanks to Ted and Rob who helped a ton today! I was floored, but in the space of 3 hours we managed to get everything down, on legs, and set up.
Still some leftover cleanup left to do of course. I hooked up the cabling in Tron, got Xenon together. Still need to do the first boot on Metallica and Centaur has all of its guts that need to go back together.
But WoZ was together...man what a beast to move, and I don't think it's going anywhere!
Here's some pictures...enjoy!

I've finished two basements in nj and never had issues, and I'm just a DYIer. In NJ, you need to get a certificate of occupancy (c/o) when you buy/ sell a house. I had the building inspector in my previous house when i was selling to get the c/o and he said virtually nothing about the finished basement and just asked how I did it. He told me to add some fire blocking at the top of the walls and that was it. Certainly did not say to rip anything down. If you take pics at each step, they won't give you any trouble.
I've had the tax assessor in my house when they reassess, and they just note that you have increased living space compared to what is shown on record and they adjust accordingly. They don't care.
I live in Manalapan. They have the architectural drawings down to every plug and light switch on file. When the inspector for the township showed up to do the c/o he had a copy of it with him. the previous owner added a few light fixtures and a couple of light switches for those fixtures. Didn't get a permit and you can't get a permit unless you are a licensed contractor. I now have 3 holes in the ceiling where the fixture once stood and switches that do nothing because the Romex was pulled out. Couldn't get a c/o without ripping it all out and having it redone exactly the same way by a licensed electrician. That would have taken weeks so we opted to close and take a credit but either way it's ridiculous. It was done properly but not by a licensed contractor so in their eyes it was no good.
I'm not doing shit without permits and a contractor because it's not worth the hassle.

Soon...but that would mean you need to tear yourself away from WoZ!

And another thing, when you have a lot of people over they always bump into the pole and I'd rather bump into a round pole then a sharp cornered square pole.

Just no dancing with the poles. Especially with some of my friends from here...that's just a horrible visual all around!
Looking great! They sure fill up in a hurry.
Nice that you have good friends like that. I need me more of those.
Enjoy the space! 3 months is not bad at all. We did our basement ourselves, and it took 4 years, LOL.

I remember renovating our house and pulling all 10 of my pins out from a 2 year hibernation. Congrats U will enjoy it. I wish I had a basement now.

So thats what is under the Primo shirt..... wow, looking good Ted
How is your cooking ? Think i am going to propose to you
Quoted from NJGecko:Damn Ted....that's not what I imagined at all. So many questions to be asked now...
Oh PLEASE.....If Ted looked like that, he'd never leave the house!
Chris
Had family over yesterday. The anal pinhead side of me was cringing watching all of the unleveled and unshopped games get played. But I dealt with it and just enjoyed watching the pins get played.
The nieces and nephews spent a ton of time playing and, oddly, the male folks gravitated towards WoZ and the female folks did not want to be pried away from BSD!
Quoted from Pinchroma:If Ted looked like that he would never leave a lot of our houses
Well played
Chris
Man, this just went all kinds of the wrong way....
Um, I'll change the topic as best as possible...
Nice panorama shot (woz is blurry, but trust me it's there)
And I got Xenon back together....
And I plugged in Metallica.
Going to work on Centaur in a bit....

Ehem...

They were getting played before you came to save the day with your battery operated device and knee pads....
