Maybe I'm not the first to suggest this Tilt Variant, but today I was having a great game on Xmen and my ball was stuck in the play field. It's happened to everyone several times, but I had to move the machine to get the ball free. Unfortunately, I tilted.

Tilt Variant Idea: Change the Tilt so that if there is no scoring in the last minute on the machine, disable the tilt, so I can get the ball free and continue my game. This seems like it would be easy to implement and would not penalize players for something out of their control.

Yeah this would be cool. Do you always play alone? I always call my wife or step daughter down if I need help.

You should post this suggestion in one of the multimorphic feature-feedback threads.

Just to check, though- this is your machine, right? Pick up one of these to grab your ball with:

and take the glass off next time!

If it's good enough for Mark Steinman, it's good enough for me. (Pretty sure that's who I saw using one and thought it was genius).

Taking the glass off is a pain in the neck in the middle of a great game. Kills the momentum....

Reminds me of the song Paradise by the Dashboard light. All I want is to give the machine a good knock while the machine is performing a ball find.

Open coin door pop another ball into shooter lane and keep playing
Usually frees up the other ball

You need to learn to deal with losing momentum if you ever want to be the pinball master!

Don't a lot of Stern's kill the ball if you open up the coin door?

Just keep one of these bad boys in the basement:

Picks that ball right up through the glass and drops it where you want it. Positioned correctly just above the flippers, you can get to wizard mode on ball 1...

Maybe the feature should be to disable the tilt after a ballsearch and no subsequent switch events?

Enable the tilt after it sees the ball back on the playfield.

    No.

You're correct, but there's a way to disable that. Here's a quote from my TSPP manual.

    Adjustments - Standard Adjustments - 42

"Coindoor ball saver: Set to YES or NO. Default is NO When set to NO, this feature is not available. When set to YES, this feature allows the Coin Door to be opened during game play; the ball will drain but the game will be placed "on hold". When the Coin Door is closed, the pinball will return to the Shooter Lane, and the game will resume."

I like this variant the best. Then again, RTR's link was a close second.
