I have a High Roller Casino that, every now and then, will not “wake up” from a tilt. That is to say; sometimes, not every time, when the game is tilted it will just say TILT and stay that way until I turn the machine off. You can rotate the inlane lights with the flipper buttons, but that is it.

This game came from an arcade that had made some adjustments to the coin door. Is it possible that they somehow tied in the Slam tilt switch?

Do you mean one of the trough switches? They all register OK in test, and there never seems to be a problem during play. Would that rule them out?

Interesting. I had never considered calling Stern directly. Does anyone have any experience with their support staff? Are they generally helpful with non-dealers (individuals)?

Indeed, they are very nice.

Unfortunately, this was a problem with which they were unfamiliar. He suggested swapping the cpu board with another. Before I do that; any other thoughts? If it is the board, I have no idea where to begin fixing it.

I would have to agree. It just seems odd that there is never an issue, except when there is a tilt.

I decided to start at the tilt mechanism to look for flaws. The diode on the tilt base was changed just for kicks and to eliminate it from the problem. Well, it seems to be working! I cannot replicate the tilt malfunction. I don't understand how that could have been affecting it. Perhaps I just bumped something else while I was in there
