Hello, I am a big fan,

Would it be possible to do a mirrored blade for the monster bash? (having a CGC MBR LE, I sort of like the mirror effect )

The idea would be ( free riding on existing design )
- a rigth handle with red blood & bats ( like the elvira house of horror one with the scarred stiff bats ) to match the dracula side
- a left handle with green smile & underwater bubbles ( like the scared stiff one but with bubbles instead of bats ) to match the Creature side. Instead of bubble slimy stuff like jelly fish my be good too, but the video insist alot on bubbles.

Et more elaborate & beskope design could involve a yellow or red pyramide at the very end of the rigth handle & a ligth blue or green lab at the very end of the left handle, but somehow simplicity maybe better here

cheers, Etienne

Quarantined time gave me a chance to catch up on installing mods on my TH including these Tilt art blades. They look good.

Couldn’t find any installed pics of the Mustang Raceway blades. Wasn’t sure from the uninstalled pics, but I’m so glad I took a chance on them. Love them!

Anyone have suggestions for best way to install the side blades? I have a set coming from Tilt shortly.

I have had nothing but bad experiences installing these in the past ha (not from Tilt).

#1809 4 years ago

tilts are the best quality I have found. use the wet application method. smooth sailing.

Yes, the wet method is best. Use a spray bottle with water and a drop of dish soap. Spray the back of the side blade. Then install. The water/soap will allow you to move it around or restick into place until it’s perfect. Once in place, smooth it out the best you can and get any access water out. Good luck. This method works everytime!!

Remove the playfield, with someone else helping, and set it next to the pin on saw horses (no need to disconnect anything but mods with short wires). That's my method (along with the wet apply method) with 2 people applying the side blades to keep it all aligned and haven't had a problem. Did about 6 pins so far.

I watched a video of this a while back and was interested.

Thank you for this.. So literally just a drop of soap? That was always my question of how much soap and water.. Perhaps I dont need to overthink it.

Unfortunately getting help, especially with everything going on, is not an option.

Glass cleaner is perfect... spray behind the decals to wet it completely.

You can easily do it alone. The drop of soap and water mix let’s you move it around and reposition if needed. Easy peezy. I’ve done 7-8 sets by myself this way. You can put a few drops of soap for a larger spray bottle. A very small spray bottle only needs 1 drop or 2. It doesn’t really matter that much. As long as there’s a little soap. Don’t over think it. Good luck!!

#1816 4 years ago

Maybe it's because I've installed a lot of these over the years but I've never done the wet method. Nor have I ever taken a play field out to install them. I do however recommend that you have someone help you hold the play field up while you install. Each GameBlade comes with instructions for the dry method. We go out of our way to print on Air Egress vinyl which makes installing theses fairly simple. If you decide to do the wet method make sure you do not over saturate and make sure you squeeze out all the water from behind the Side Art. Also please be careful when replacing and lowering the play field.

Absolutely, feel free to use them however you want.

As for the install method, I have now done eight sets in the past couple months (half Stern, half Tilt). The first one I was nervous and used the wet method. It was terrible. Not sure if I used too much or what (seemed like I used a very light mist), but all it did was slide around and I had a heck of a time getting it squished out and dry enough to stay in place. I thought for sure I ruined the blade. Never again. A few machines I removed the playfield, and that is honestly nice, but putting it back in is a bit nerve wracking as I am usually doing it myself. Being a whopping 5'6" makes it a bear lifting up and in without scraping the sides. The last at least half of them, I have simply put up the playfield, taken off the backing, slid the blade in between, eyeballed it straight, start at the back and stick it down (which is basically Tilt's instructions). Both Stern's and especially Tilt Graphics are super easy to peel back off small areas to reposition before you do your final smoothing down. It's honestly super easy if you do not overthink it. I can put some on in about 10 minutes flat start to finish now. Best bang for the buck aesthetic mod you can do. I never put much thought into them until I had a machine come with some on, and suddenly I needed them on all my machines.

The Aerosmith flipper toppers look great! But I should have asked for an extra LH flipper topper for my upper playfield flipper on my premium. I forgot about that one. Next order or eventual show.

My DE JP was my last modern game without blades, so I had to fix that. This was another set I wasn’t sure of until they were on, but I love them. I’d actually love to see Tilt Graphics make a backboard decal to cover up the existing art with matching artwork.

Also throwing in a couple pics of both Jurassic Parks side by side, both rocking Tilt Graphics art blades. Sorry for the glass on reflections on those. They make a great pair!
