Yes, TH is definitely smoother and way less clunky than LOTR. I mentioned this in another thread and some disagree, but I think your opinion holds more water since you have both pins sitting right next to each other in your line up.
As for the slight floatiness of TH, what is your pitch at? Put it at 7.0-7.2 and that floatiness will almost completely disappear.
