Cute, but why would the next game Play-field for Toy Story be any different than the last 4 titles? Is JJP confident enough to actually provide a warranty to back up their confidence that real change is taking place in upcoming Toy Story?

    Quoted from timtim:

Yeah JJP was really pumping a ton of games out the door before that chip shortage

40 or less games being made per week is not really “pumping out” games. Stern does more than double that that at around 100 per day. That’s pumping out games.

It seems that your sarcasm detector is broken

Yeah, sarcasm on pinside is such a rarity.

Now back to the subject of 22 reveal. Hardly a secret, it will most likely be another kiddie themed pinball machine, Toy Story, similar to kiddie Wonka before it. But they could surprise us with a man’s theme of rumored Matrix?

    Quoted from hank527:

Toy Story at 11.5k and you are responsible for anything that goes wrong with it.

Sounds like a good deal, $11.5K with no warranty. (Sarcasm)

    Quoted from konghusker:

I’ll never understand the hate towards jjp themes. Let’s see, they have done….
WW & Woz- two of the most beloved classic movies ever that people of all ages respect and love. Both older people that grew up with these movies, and young kids would enjoy these kids themes.
Potc & Hobbit- two more recent, family oriented adventure movies that were box office hits, and have large fan bases. Plenty of people of all ages that still love these franchises.
DI- an original theme, based on a mesh of one of the all time favorite designers popular classic pinball titles. Really fun, incredible layout, and mechs that are packing a game that fills the needs of older people that wanted an original theme to reminisce of their old Bally/Williams hay days, yet attractive to younger people with the phone idea.
GNR- a total rock concert in a box for one of the all time greatest rock bands of all time. More mature theme, faster play, and a high adrenaline rush type of game. Targeting us 80’s & 90’s kids.
Toy story- one of, if not the biggest all time animated franchises ever. Kids that grew up watching the original are now my age, middle aged, and probably make up the biggest percentage of pinball buyers. Nostalgia sales. Great story, great toy and mech possibilities, and great call out potential. This is a must own for me.
Basically we can’t all possibly love every single game. If a theme isn’t for you, then just move on to the next one. It shouldn’t require having to voice your distaste for any one theme just because it’s 1 of hundreds of titles available out there. Man, nobody cares about you not agreeing with theme decisions. Nothing wrong either with grown men loving nostalgic themes. Get over it.

For Kiddie Pinball themes, in your toddlers game room; WW Brat kids, WOZ Dorthy and Toto, Toy Story Mr Potato Head, Ham the piggie and Woody the cowpoke, DI Dad’s Jean’s, Hobbit Bilbo Baggins and Frodo all top the kiddie pinball charts for sure. All good for young kids birthday parties! Children love those themes.

GNR, POTC more manly themes to invite the guys over to play.

TPF: TS or dogfather will be announced to start being delivered sometime 3rd/4th quarter, maybe this year?

    Quoted from Meldenhut:

Interested to see how many of the 5000 LEs were sold. Seems like it took them ~12 months to get to serial numbers indicating that close to 3000 have been made. My guess is that they have sold 4000 (as it’s not sold out) which means at the current rate of 200 odd a month they will be caught up around mid year.
Does line up well with TPF hints and a q3 release with deliveries in 2023

Delusional. Not a chance. JJPs own admission is being able to produce only 40 machines per week over the last 60 weeks of possible production, which is being very generous = 2400 max built. Probably closer to around 2000 GNR’s built to date, which includes CEs and SEs as well, given all the shortages and PF issues. Keep in mind, JJP has a tiny manufacturing capability. JJP is not a completely stupid company and would never reveal sold numbers via serial numbers. No pinball company would do that.

Heck even 2,000 might be too high, given the number of owners shown here on Pinside:

    Quoted from RGR:

GNR best game hands down from JJP

    get the microscope out

It’s JJPs only game in the past two years, so it’d have to be their best game as of late. Only most think POTC far and away out shines GNR by a country mile. Although many think both don’t shoot so well. Pat’s two games shoot far better than rookie Eric’s, but that is to be expected as Eric still is a newbie trying to learn how to design. Unfortunately no one needs a microscope to see exposed wood from chipping PFs. Wish that wasn’t true for so many people.
