Quoted from rockrand:...and you can add a right speaker and just jump it off the left speaker, not stereo mod but sounds much better and a lot easier and a sub woofer also helps sound...
For those wondering, the stereo mod is outlined here...

I've done it to SST and XF and then I also updated the speakers to Kicker brand. These updates make the games way better imho.
And yesterday I started playing around with a DMD Extender...
Unfortunately the video washed the colors out as it looks much better in person. Just waiting for a 15.6" LED display and controller and then I'll start the installation.
Quoted from CaptainNeo:this thread is still going? figured the 3 people that actually like this game would have talked it out already.
Such a dick...
Quoted from BumperNets:Season premiere was great!
My wife and I agree! But honestly... it could have been the worst X-Files episode ever and we would have still agreed!
Quoted from AlexSMendes:A friend of mine is making, but I think the set is coming a bit costly (about US$ 150.00)....
Awesome looking! But too expensive for me.
I installed a DMD Extender in our X-Files a while ago. Thought I posted pictures in this thread but I guess I didn't...
I attached one picture and there are a bunch more here...

I would *love* a fully colored version but this is a pretty nice improvement imho.
Quoted from Edenecho:On the top of this page you can see my xfiles back panel badge mod, also in mine i have a blue led strip in the fbi hole, looks great! Added a spotlight on the fluke man, and added a led strip in the top of the alien cannister. Led backbox kit, speaker light kit and pinball pro speakers+woofer. The x is default green but i like the blue leds in it better, gives it a colder look.
Do you think the Pinball Pro upgrade was worth it? I have two upgraded speakers already but I'm curious if the (sub)woofer would make nice bass with this game.
Just added a 8" Flipper Fidelity woofer to the cabinet this past weekend and I totally agree. It's a great upgrade.
Also have 4" Kicker coax speakers in the head and repopulated the right side amplifier.
Totally worth the upgrade IMHO.
Quoted from jim5six:I was wondering how hard it was to add in the bits on the board to get the right channel working? I think I saw a parts list here somewhere... (remember to find that)...
Here's the article I followed...

And I think there may be one or two sound effects that may be a tiny bit stereo but overall the game seems like it's just mono. I did purchase a "stereo simulator" circuit that I plan to add to the game eventually but for now the speaker upgrades are a huge enough improvement.
Only opto problem I've had is cold solder joints. If you take the boards out again try wiggling the pins... if they actually move try resoldering them. Good luck.
I took a few pictures of the backbox door when I installed an LCD and DMD Extender combo. Here's one... and there are more after it.

Quoted from MtnFrost:I'm rewatching the series now.
Me too. I forgot how good season two was.
