Just joined the club! I have some cleaning to do but loving it so far. My filing cabinet is shot. Are there any other options other than $160 through Marco? Going to get a list together for a shop job. Also going to do the green ring caps for alien baby. What do you guys have for art blades? (pics) stoked to have this in the line up!
I replaced my serviceable but still beat up file cabinet with a Back Alley Creations remake: https://www.backalleycreations.com/collections/x-files-pinball-mods/products/x-files-cabinet
I assume it's the same one Marco carries, but BAC custom makes each one which is why the price is high. It's been holding up well so far and is noticeably tougher.
I also did the ring cap for the alien tank and it looks great.

I used the stencils and the blades from retrorefurbs. They look great and install easily.

- and of course (since it kicks off that mode), "It's called a 'fluke'. It came from the body they pulled out of the sewer."

The arms are so the curved backglass does not come into contact with the playfield when transporting or lifting the playfield.

Are you talking about putting the backbox down and worried about the stress on the arms over a prolonged period of time? If so, put a folded or bunched up blanket in the space between the head and the playfield glass to even out the pressure.

I installed a ColorDMD LED panel and went with all green. I also liked the blue option.

Secondly, I'm repainting the backbox, and I need some advice on what paint to use. Is it matt or satin or what? Is it textured at all?

I don't have the ID card artwork, but I did repaint my backbox. I used SEM products, satin black chip guard and clear chip guard. Spraying the finish from about 2' away. Came out great. I think I posted some pix in this thread, but here are a couple.

Primer, satin black chip guard, clear chip guard, then satin black chip guard. It takes a "feel" for spraying it to get the results you want.

Is it right after you shoot the cabinet? There is a small gap between the cabinet and the subway. It seems to be a pretty common problem.

Yes. Right after it shoot the cabinet. It gets stuck under there between the subway and cabinet. Any fixes for that?

The previous seller fixed the issue in the game I owned by putting in a small plastic piece to extend the subway. Unfortunately, I’m not sure where he got it from or how he did it. Hopefully someone else will be able to help.

Thanks for the info! I ended up just putting a few washers where the subway connects to the playfield so it’s further away from the play field. It works perfectly. Ball clears it every time. Easy fix.
Also wondering your guys opinion on getting some non ghosting LED’s or should I just get led ocd? It already has LED’s in it and it looks really nice but they ghost like crazy. Figure I would spend around $75 or so on leds for the inserts or I can get that ocd board for $135.

Non ghosting LEDs worked perfectly for me when I had the game.
