I’m looking into picking up game #4 and feel I have narrowed it down to a Houdini or a Halloween. They are very comparable modern games I feel have both gotten great with updates. In the end the choice is ultimately mine but I was curious of what you all might think.

Two very different play-styles
Houdini feels good to play but I prefer Halloween

The two games play entirely different from one another. If you can find a used Houdini locally you're saving at least 2k or more in comparison to what people are asking for Halloween.

Both Halloween and Houdini are gorgeous games; I feel if you give it a little more time the prices on Halloween will start to drop a little bit. For your dollar, Houdini is a great value and not a ton needs to be done to it. I've seen some for right over 5k and up.

Halloween for me

Can't go wrong with either, owned a Houdini and currently have HW. Maybe seek out a HW now while prices are discounted, once code and animation changes are complete it may go up in price.

I currently have both. For now, I feel Houdini’s code is better and there’s more to do, but Halloween has a coolness factor to it and the modes are more enjoyable for me.

I feel Houdini is one of greatest values for $ right now. A premium level machine with some listed for ~$6k or below.

Disclaimer: my Houdini is listed, but my house is full and Houdini has been in my lineup longer than any others except ‘the keepers’ that are bolted to the floor (for various reasons). I’m torn about letting it go, but I enjoy brining in ‘new to us’ games every couple of months.

Didn’t vote because I haven’t played HW. But I’ve owned a Houdini and it’s a pretty great game
