Hello Everyone! I purchased a Mando pro this week (used, but with less than 20 plays) as my first pinball machine. I'm both excited and a little intimidated about owning my very own pinball machine.

I've read every. single. page. in this forum. So much great information, but it is a lot when binging the forum in less than a week. Because of all of the great information in this forum, I've...

1) lowered the trough power
2) slightly lowered flipper strength
3) put in my cliffy order (3-4 week wait time, but I can't let it sit without playing while I wait)
4) started shopping for replacement rubbers
5) started examining metal rails to make sure they aren't rubbing the playfield

did I miss anything that should be done immediately?

I'm also having the problem where the ball will hit the plastic that holds the red flasher after coming off the ramp drop over the left orbit (after the Razor Crest shot). I remember seeing a post where someone suggested putting foam in the lane just before the drop to slow down the ball. Has this worked for people? Are there other potential solutions out there?

Thanks for all of the great content and information that has been shared so far in this forum!

Quoted from crujones4life:

I raised the left side plastic up like a half inch and it still hits the damn thing. I wish someone would make a deflector that attaches to the ramp and forces the ball down into the orbit. I think that would be the best option for a permanent and reliable fix.

Hmmmm… I do have a 3D printer… perhaps and ugly piece of plastic will help…

Hello. Anyone experiencing issues with the scoop registering (I have the pro model)? I was playing an extended session the other day (a couple/few hours) when suddenly the scoop stopped registering that the ball was in place. Meaning, the game code wouldn't respond to the ball in the scoop AND the ball wouldn't eject from the scoop. I ended up having to bend the switch in the scoop upwards a bit with my finger in order for the game to register and eject the ball. But, now I'm noticing that while the ball eject seems to work consistently, the game code doesn't seem to register that the ball is in the scoop about 25% of the time. Is there a different switch for game code vs firing the coil to eject the ball?

Thanks in advance!

Quoted from medeski7:

This is a known problem on a number of Sterns with a scoop. I posted that this happened to mine some pages back. The fix is the scoop switch needs to be replaced. Bending the hook on the switch may help for a bit, but eventually changing the switch entirely is the solution. I just fixed my switch last week and it now plays 100% again. Here is the switch you need to replace: https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/180-5209-00
Here's the Stern Bulletin and text from my last post identifying this problem:
I'm 90% sure this is the issue with the scoop. I saw a Deadpool thread noting this same issue. I found a loose ground wire on the scoop switch that I'll reconnect. I might have to bend the metal part so the switch stays actuated too.

Thanks so much!
