Quoted from PaulCoff:

Pics of your ramp near Carl Weathers, please. What did you do to protect it in location play?

You mean the left ramp? We’ve had no issue. I believe some had the ramp protector not flush with the ramp so all impact force was going to the screw hole and the lip of the ramp is pretty narrow.

#852 2 years ago
Quoted from GravitaR:

FYI: This is what could happen to your Manda encounter ramp if that gap between the ramp and protector isn't corrected. Might be able to put some type of foam between there or dremel the protector hole so can slide it closer to the ramp so the ball dont hit it on the way down. On a pro with around 100 plays.
If you take a close look at the picture and look at the gap between the protector and the ramp it could be the cause. More likely its the ball hitting the protector and it bending to the ramp that is stressing it to break off.
[quoted image]

If I were to take the metal off and bend it such that it makes solid contact with the ramp do you think I could spare myself this eventual break?

#853 2 years ago

My ball just rattles out of the shooter lane. Hits the right wall then the left. It's very annoying. Shooter rod looks dead center. It happens with the auto launcher also but not as bad.

Mine does this too, really takes some momentum out of the launch. Auto plunger seems to do a little better than manual (which is also dead center). Some others have mentioned the same issue, would really like to see a solution for this…

Quoted from Aniraf:

I had a piece of neoprene behind there to distribute the impact, it worked well but causes more rejects by also moving the protector from the front of the ramp as well.

Recently, I took the screw out all together. I will make a clip available for free to the community and at a cost if you don't have a 3D printer that should be able to be removed and replaced many, many times that will hug that part to the ramp plastic and remove the problem of the screw bearing the brunt of force and transmitting it to that small area of plastic.

I'll probably put it up in my store in pinside and thingiverse this weekend after I get a couple hundred plays on it.

I also have a spacer for the left orbit plastic as well that has solved those hangups. Will do the same with that one, thingiverse for free and a fee if you don't have a printer.

What about just removing the screw and gluing the protector to the ramp?

Quoted from Jerickso77:

If the protector won't sit flush, just elongate the hole in the tab so you can sit the protector flush against the ramp. People are making this way too complicated...

First pin = check. Finally made use of a spot in my house I can only assume was designed exclusively for this. Thanks for all the helpful info on this thread. As soon as I put some washers underneath those ball returns I’ll be set

Now you just need to have a contractor come in and make another five spots just like that one for more machines!

Another little tip i did was bend the very end of the protector so it's not sticking out to get smashed backwards by the ball over and over. That little bit that it sticks out was taking a beating being so close to the flippers. I also put felt tape behind the protector to fill the gap.

May need to check the screws that hold the upper playfield plastic down. All of them were loose. The upper left screw fell out while I was playing and rolled towards the flippers. Further inspection I noticed a smaller black screw was missing on the front end of the angle brackets. For the life of me I cannot find this screw.

Anyone have issues with the right scoop sticking? Noticed mine wasn’t firing in test, the scoop sticks on the inside on a weld. Notified my distro who is reaching out to Stern. You can see in the pics where the welds are, and it dips into the scoop. Other than that, have been having a ton of fun with this pin!!

I know they use small black screws in some of the plastics. Check for holes in the flat plastics around the game.

That kind of weld look is normal - those photos don't really show anything abnormal. Is the divertor physically binding?

Quoted from flynnibus:

I can’t really take a photo of the issue - the weld left a large buildup on the inside so that the encounter ramp won’t drop down, sticks on the weld. I can force it down, and I can feel the inner ramp grinding on the weld. I could probably remove that part and polish / grind it down with a dremel, but figured I’d wait to see what Stern says…

Love my game but every single weld on this game looks like shit. Scoop, diverter, etc

We need “The Armorer” to teach Stern proper metallurgy.
Just received my Mando pro 2 days ago. The welds look pretty clean/solid on the diverter/scoop. Fingers crossed they hold.
Hope you’re still enjoying THLE, Jeff!

Interesting…my game came with one of those screws at the bottom of the box. I didn’t see any of them missing. Maybe I go yours?

Installed the wire rails from Loganpinball last night. What a game changer. I am also working on the finish work for the Detonator Dome covers. The one on the right in picture(still needs paint)had to be dremeled out on the bottom a little bit to account for the new wire guide. I also added the speaker cover magnetic artwork. It's been less than a week and I know I'm still in the honeymoon phase but... I am loving this game!

I decided to use a small piece of lockdown bar foam (beer seal) under the left orbit plastic. I realized that it is basically just hovering there with no attachment to that rail. This has completely eliminated the chunkiness I would get off of a smooth center ramp shot. The ball now glides under the plastic and no longer smacks into it.

I have updated my Mando Pro. I don't know if this is an issue or not but my "grogu" ball save is going off and sending another ball even though I haven't drained. Any ideas?

Good call. I wondered if that was what was causing those orbit shots to rattle out.

It’s motion activated, but if that doesn’t work you can press a button to open it…

Here’s a quick video from my initial setup of the door:

100% agree on this. It looks like a high school kid in a metal shop class did all of these welds. They are absolute garbage. If you know what a decent weld should look like, or what a top notch weld should like like…well, this game will make you cringe.

Yes mine was sticking too. I could also get it to stick manually. It was binding on those shitty welds. It stopped binding after I worked it in a bit. If you’re still having issues, just pull it apart and smooth those welds out with a dremel where it’s binding.

Those 3D printed / metal ramps look awesome. I ended up with the ramps from Loganpinball and they work great. I was skeptic at first that the plastic ramps needed swapping…but they really do. If any pro owner is on the fence or just skeptical; one of these metal ramp options really is a must for visibility.

I also added this beskar helmet shooter rod and it is very nice.

Still can't get a clean plunge. Took out the whole shooter rod assembly and you really can't move it much left or right. Looks centered anyway so can't figure out why it pushes right.
