Quoted from Scott-UK:

Does anybody have a good solid plan they use in playing through mando. I’m trying various routes and strategies to get better scores but feel like I’m missing something. I know the rules well enough now after playing a lot every day since I got my LE. is it all about the multipliers? How are you guys building them so well as I feel like for me, they are just luck shots (boba fet). (Lighting hunter) Should I start a multiball first off to get this up and then jump into a mission.
So yeh, I’d love to hear of some peoples go to strategies so I can try them out and see what works. Absolutely obsessed with this pin and it still excites me everytime I walk up to it.
I’m on 5 ball, probably getting couple of extra balls per game. I can usually average 300-400 mil. My top score is 650 million but I got lucky with a question mark in foundry 5or6x multiplier for this one.

I find the that you have to get your playfield multipliers going all at once that's boba targets, scope, and hunter completed then hopefully you are only a shot away from a razor crest multi ball, but first start the mission then the multi ball. To really blow this up get to the foundry early on to buy amben rifle and heal to keep your multi ball going. I've had a mission high score of 557M and razor crest of 402M with this setup.

Check the switch behind the pops.

Nothing is jumping out at me. Is there a particular switch up there that is known to cause this?

Ok thanks for the tips. Think I’ve concentrated on everything else and making those shots only on pure chance. Certainly the bobba fet ones. When hunter comes up I usually ignored it and only hit scope if was convenient at the time. It’s a lot to try and make all come together without draining that’s for sure.

“PLAY BETTER”

that particular (under the pops) switch "problem" should be put in the keys topic...

#7355 3 months ago

I found it after turning on the diagnostic switch mode and referring to the manual. In my case it was the 10PT switch. Whenever I would test a pop bumper the diagnostics would show the 10PT switch closed as well. I had never noticed the little standup switch sitting between the scoop and the pops. From the bottom of the playfield I used some curved long nose pliers and slightly bent one side of the switch so that the blades weren’t so close. The switch had gotten to the point where the contacts were always touching. I didn’t do enough testing to confirm, but it seemed that the code was awarding +2 beskar on ANY switch hit (e.g., shooter lane switch, outlane switch) if the 10PT switch was closed.

Any idea what this thing piece of stainless came from?

Cleaning the Mando LE and this was under the upper playfield. . .

Probably been addressed but how do you plug in the animated grogu and the topper?

The pin i bought already had the connector for grogu plugged in where the topper is supposed to he plugged in.

Lermods sells a splitter for that

What mod did you get? Some of them have the connectors to plug in to the backbox power distribution board and others use the ticket dispenser connection in the cabinet.

I installed my Mandalorian topper and when powering on the machine it will mirror the dmd screen and then go out. It will not show any holograms throughout gameplay or attract mode. It stays dark the whole time. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Check the cat5 connection is seated properly and plugged all the way in firmly. Mine did the same when I got it. It was a slightly loose connection.

#7371 3 months ago

Will check hopefully I’m lucky and that fixes it. I thank you for the pointer.

I finished a stainless steel center ramp mod and will be selling them soon. Heres a few pictures and a video.

Tried everything to make my Mandalorian topper work and no luck. For the price of this topper you would hope it works out of the box. It even came with a long scratch across the front. Now I’m having mayor buyers remorse to have spent 2k for a paperweight. I will call my distributor and hopefully they can make this right ☹️

#7374 3 months ago

Possibly silly suggestions, but are you running the latest code that might be needed to support topper function? Is there anything in the settings that need to be turned on or off for the topper to work?

I have also found reseating node board inter connectors sometimes get things working again on other pins, but I don’t have a mando topper yet. Sorry it’s giving you a hard time, hopefully your distro will be able to help.

#7375 3 months ago

Yes, my machine is running the latest code and I did check the menu settings for any topper settings. Nothing is working but I do appreciate your suggestions. Hopefully my topper is an isolated instance and no one else is having these difficulties.

I find the easiest way to quick points is to start a mode and then start multiball. As soon as I start the multiball I hit the button for 2x shots. You will be surprised how fast your score will increase after a few shots.

Thanks. This is usually my go to for sure. I’ve concentrated more on the multipliers in the last week and now hit 1billion and 1.1billion. Still on 5 ball but I’m enjoying it that way so I’ll take it. The final wizard mode TITW eludes me still but hopefully it’s coming soon and maybe get the signet if I’m lucky

Mine was the same way. I sent it back to Stern a month ago. Greg from Flip n out opened a ticket for me.

#7379 3 months ago

My OEM Mando Topper is the same way. It worked for about two weeks and then the hologram stopped. Before I contacted Greg at Flip N Out I unplugged and replugged the connections - no luck. He quickly got me a repair number and I sent it off to Stern. Having some major buyer’s remorse here. Hopefully it’s an easy fix and this thing lasts a while. 2k is a lot to spend on a non-functioning topper.

#7380 3 months ago

anyone got to the bottom of the beskar counter on the topper resetting everytime you turn the machine off.

That was fixed in the latest code update

#7382 3 months ago

My distributor Automated is taking good care of me. They sent me a new topper and are returning the defective one to Stern. I have done business with them for years and they have been very good to me. I hope the new one works well Nick-C I’m with you on the buyers remorse and hope your topper gets fixed soon.

Still looking for the right side apron plastic. if any of you installed IC in the apron, I’d be interested in the plastic.

I wish Stern would include this plastic in the goodie bag. I believe the IC looks better on the coindoor anyways.

Sold my mando le a while back and kind of missed it so I picked up a loaded and I mean loaded pro and wow the pro I love so much better. Has the metal original wire forms instead of plastic and every mod made.

I do need two original apron cards and a middle sticker for the apron… anyone have one for sale??
Some idiot stuck to the coin box lid and it tore.

I’m having a strange issue with my diverter on the premium, the coil will pop it down in single coil test but won’t move in the game specific test menu. Diverter fails to work in game, all optos seem to be fine. Anyone seen this strange behavior? Probably willload a fresh SD card next, appreciate any input here.

Did you check each of those in test? This sounds like an misaligned or dirty opto failing to trigger the diverter

I’m selling my animated child mod at a discount. Converted back to stock when I bought the machine last week. Pm me if interested. It’s basically new just few minor marks on ear from hitting sides of cabinet.

$250 shipped (no on off switch) can send a pic later.

Mando, one of my all time favorite shooters. Change out the bottom star posts for original Stern slim posts and you have a completely different easier shooting game by back handing the all important right ramp. With slim posts installed, hit right ramp 90% of the time. I contend that’s the only reason for Mando being so underrated.

Thunderbird do you have a part number and source for that Stern slim post? Some may think it is cheating, but I am all for a more playable game!

#7395 3 months ago

I am able to easily make those backhand shots with the stock posts. There is a little bit of wiggle room on the post hole so you can loosen it and push it to the right and retighten. That should give you enough clearance to make the shots if you currently can’t.

Same. I can hit it consistently. I will say if I couldn’t it would completely change the game for me. So do what you need to do so backhands work.

Moving the flipper bat up ever so slightly makes that shot easier.

#7399 3 months ago

It really is a backhand game isn’t it. I raised my right flipper as advised on here somewhere and it transformed it for me. Can hit the ramp and U turn nearly everytime. I’ve also started to find the left ramp to Helmet a much easier shot off the left flipper instead of the right now.

You don't need to change the posts. I was able to make it work as well.
