Quoted from dinot:

Folks,
Has anyone with a Premium/LE replaced the flipper rubber on the mini-PF? If so, how did you get to the flippers?
I started to remove the plastic cover, but getting at the 2 screws underneath is a tall task. I was wondering if there was an easy way to remove the mini-PF to get to them.
Thanks,

if it's those screws holding that metal piece in where the ball exits the mini playfield, you can go into settings and move the playfield step by step to its highest position. That's how I was able to tighten mine

Well this is embarrassing. I thought that the screws on top were rivets like the ones on the other side of those brackets. Stupid age messing with my eyesight.

I replaced mine. 4 black screws and the plastic cover came off to replace rubbers. Just remove top piece only.

Thanks,

I did get to them with some small screw drivers ok. Other thing you can do it wait until the upper playfield is tilted up during a game and turn off the power. Gives you easy access. But I do want to know how to remove the upper playfield as my flippers are not aligned. Getting enough torque with it in place just isn't happening.

This was just me not seeing properly. I thought that the black screws were rivets.

Also, to get the PF horizontal, you can do that from the menu.

Nice. did you make those?

#6608 2 years ago

they are from tilt graphics

#6609 2 years ago

This is my first home pin! Always wanted some home pinball but never truly had the space. Just converted a room in our basement to an arcade with fluorescent carpet, dark paint, and blacklights, just in time for my Premium to be shipped. (I have a couple of Arcade1up cabinets in there but this will be my first "big boy" machine. Baby's First Pinball!)

Unfortunately, the shipper got it today from my distributor, which means they can't deliver it until tomorrow at the earliest, but I have other plans during their delivery window so it'll have to be Monday afternoon...Longest weekend ever?

I made a set a little more true to Damascus/beskar detail. They are three dimensional as well.

Here are some initial pics. I'll get more (and better) pics once I move this into my gameroom. Right now it is in my modding staging area (which is outside my gameroom) which is a total mess when I work on machines.

So far I've installed
- powder coated parts
- orange t-moulding
- shooter rod
- Pinsound linelevel output (for connecting to amp and subwoofer)
- upgraded 5 1/4" speakers (Polk DB521)
- amplifier (backbox speakers)
- speaker light kit
- subwoofer (Klipsch 12")
- Lighted buttons
- Most of the rubber with superbands
- Flipper toppers
- Invisiglass (Not on yet, I leave that for last)

I have the Wizard mods sideblades, but those have been stuck in customs in Miami for over 3 weeks, which also means I can't install my pinstadiums yet.

Love the excitement! It’s like a drug. I still love getting the next pin delivered but tough to compare to the rush of the first one. But I’ll keep chasin

I like the grey flipper rubber. Are those gum rubber or silicone?

#6617 2 years ago

Just unboxed and set up! Is there a list of things to adjust/add protection? Looks like my game already has the washer under the horseshoe guide. Was there a second spot somewhere as well to check?

Also, any tips for preventing damage to the ramp/diverter that people seem to be seeing?

Thanks!

Mando LE 597 arrived safely. Anyone know how to adjust the flippers? The right flipper (pictured) rests higher than the left making left orbit shots difficult.

I didn't read through this to verify. Make sure to use a business card between the flipper bushing and the bottom of the flipper - they make a special tool for this, you could also search thingiverse and print one... ensures a proper gap.

Be sure not to tighten pawl that holds the shaft of the flipper too tightly (there should always be some gap between the two metal ends).

If you are mechanically inclined, should be really easy to do it without even reading how to do it.

Quick mockup of the grav detonator flasher covers. Still have one more to design but I think at least the left side will be keepers. Not sure about the right yet as that is where I have the Slave 1 model right now.

Getting a pin, let alone your first, is a super fun feeling. It’s so fun, it’s addicting, and why you’ll always find room for one more. Savor this… postpone it (don’t!) and believe you me, start picking out #2

I'm pretty sure they are running Iron Maiden on a line right now.

That is a bummer. One week only of the premium on the line…not enough to satisfy the premium orders that were placed on day one. I guess Stern has some production mandate to keep the older titles on the line periodically or lose the license.

Mine has a factory installed washer on the left guide none on the right. There was a picture with red circles, the 2 areas, in an earlier post.

My LE had gobs of white grease on the playfield rails inside the cab. The rails the playfield slides on. I wiped it down before it got all over the side art. Just a head's up.

Not OP but Sterns is not out. There was another modder who had something similar. Might be theirs. Would post a link but I don’t know anything about them - suggest searching.

Got that from hookedonpinball

#6634 2 years ago

Somehow I ordered a Premium mid/late June and got in the final spot for a Premium for the first run; told it’s shipping next week as they are picking up from Stern on Friday the 23rd.

I ordered the shooter mod a week later and got it in right away; the child’s ball. Looks tits enough I figured it was official.

I’m super excited in that it’s a new pin I’ve never played, but not importantly, it’s ac on the entire family is excited about. Was nearly tempted to pick up a WOZ for the family, but I think Mando will satiate.

Tossing between IMDN, GB and simply waiting for what the next Stern and JJP will be z.

Quoted from MDCane22:

The flipper tip should point at the little dot indentations on the playfield. To my eye, it looks like your left is too low. Lift your playfield and insert a hex/allen key into the set screw on the flipper assembly to loosen the flipper. They’re machine tightened from the factory so you will need to give it a fair amount of muscle to loosen it. I thought I would snap my hex key handle off while loosening mine. Lower the playfield back onto the rails. Then, point the flipper at the dot and retighten the set screw from underneath. It’s a little tricky. You’ll need to really crank on it to get it tight again, too. I used a plastic flipper spacer gauge from pinball life to raise the flipper off the flipper bushing while I positioned it and tightened it. You could use a thin credit card or similar. You just need to have it like .5mm off the playfield before you tighten it. Loosening that set screw is NOT easy.

This dumb wikihow page actually does a good job of explaining the procedure.

Well, we got our Mando Premium all set up, very first NIB!!

Whatever people felt or wrote about the game, it's just fabulous! No issues playing this out of the box (mine was manufactured July 7th) and everybody's enjoying it!

Shout out to Michel from P1AG (our distro in Montreal), who made this a great, easy process!

Getting a Stern Mando was definitely the way!

#6645 2 years ago

P.s. on 'Key Posts'

Can we create some sort of a compendium of things to adjust and look for, before I get to put even more games on our brand new Mando?

I know there's a bunch of posts to read through, but it would be a real time saver if it's all posted in one spot.

Also, another single key post of all the best looking, most promising mods out there would be super useful. I've seen so many thus far, it's already though to decide! Lest we forget about plastics, etc.!

For those wondering about longevity of these in the pinball machine ,there is this ,for what it's worth. I purchased one of the animated baby Yoda's for my granddaughter last Christmas. Anyway after I tapped it on the head once I realized the heck with her, I'm keeping it. I have a retail store and I make blown glass baby Yoda's. This piece has become the shop mascot and sits by the register Hocking Yoda's for me. It is been running Non-Stop since the third week of December and has taken some pretty serious hits from overzealous fans. Come hell or high water it's making its way into the game once mine gets here in October.
