Quoted from GoodOmens:

Anyone with an LE not ship yet? If the rumors of premiums going on the line last week I wonder if those will start shipping this week or next…

My LE has not shipped yet at least to me I may have to my distro .

I know of two that haven’t gotten shipping notice yet

LE buyer here. Has not shipped yet. Unofficially told to expect shipping sometime this week, delivery the following week. Fingers crossed it’s not later than that!

Game defiantly needs a shaker! I have spoken!

#6005 2 years ago

I heard LE’s are heading out of the factory now and premiums should be on the line by the end of the week and shipping next week.

Who knows tho. Delays are so common now hah.

Already have my shaker waiting for when my premium arrives

Planning to do my usual basic mods right when it arrives… Shaker, volume knob/headphone jack, light up flipper buttons, and @pinmonk’s flipper fans/power supply fan.

You have spoken rather defiantly.

Just curious...do machines drop ship directly from Stern to the end user or do they go to the distro first and then to the end user.

#6009 2 years ago
Quoted from Waxx:

Well the Pro always gets ratings like, “great game, lots of fun: 6.8”. The LE just gets a 10 from every owner.
The top 100 is meaningless, especially with how great the art, sound, lights, and theme are now.

I wouldn’t say it’s meaningless. To new ppl coming into pinball it means a lot to them.

Depends if your location is on the way or out of the way. Sometimes from stern or sometimes to the distributor and then to you, if it makes sense

For me it is going to my distro first and my distro is delivering it to me.

That’s actually my point, new people to the hobby are anchored by it. Wanting to only own games in the top 20 and not understanding how games got their rating and there could be something they may enjoy more, that’s not even in the top 100.

The Top 100 is a fun curiosity with a series of design flaws in weighting, eras, model division, etc. I really enjoy NASCAR and I don’t think it’s in the top 200 but I like it more than pins in the top 20.

Mine drop shipped from Stern. No reason to go all the way to PA to head back to CO. Tracking shows it arriving Wednesday. Fingers crossed.

Yeah. It’s fun to watch tho. As a Prem owner def want to see it on the top 25 vs under 100. Def a prob if that’s the case.

Hopefully the averaging algorithm drops the high and low scores.

I think the top 100 is accurate enough... most title after some time balance out.

I also think its an excellent port of call for new pin buyers to a point. These days when we're talking big dollars for these games I think a new pin buyer is foolish if they only get what they like and don't have an exit plan if/when they want to move a game on.

I always advise anyone new to the hobby to be wary and careful of their purchases and see what's popular and what isn't... this get what you enjoy advice that I hear people giving is fine if you have endless room and pockets. Pie in the sky thinking there.

I agree and disagree with what you are saying. I got a deadpool pro because it was popular and knew I could flip it if I didn’t like it. It ended up not being for me and I traded it for a Munsters Le which was the title I originally wanted but all the negativity made me skip it. I still have the Munsters LE and I know it’s not a popular title but that’s ok with me because I like it.

Bought a pro on day one. Still waiting. Played a pro on location today. Loved it. Can't wait for.mine to get here. Was not able to hear it well as bar was loud. Lots of great video and it shoots well.

Where did you order from and where did you play it? I played the pro in Tempe at Tilt Studios. Electric Bat Arcade was supposed to get it also. Loved the pro. Waiting to see feedback on the premium upper playfield.

Does anyone know when premiums hit the production line?

Here comes a wall of photos.

FedEx said they couldn't deliver it until at least next week, so I went to the local hub to save the Child from their evil grasp.

Well packaged. Tip to others that are new to Stern NIB, the side that says you may truck from that side, this is where you will gently use a box cutter to open the box. The legs come loose inside cardboard sleeves that serve as corner protectors (do not pull up on these, you would risk the legs falling forward into your nice mirrored back glass).

The mirrored backglass is amazing in-person, photos cannot do it justice.

The artwork is awesome, very well done. The whole package is (near) perfect. This will always be at the end of our lineup, it is a very sharp looking package.

The Invisiglass is incredible. It makes me so mad that I feel as though I can't go back to "non-HD glass" - once the genie is out of the bottle, hard to put back in. At least my wife doesn't have to put much effort into gifts in the near future, I want to upgrade all the glass on our machines.

The pinballs were super shiny and packed with desiccant, no rust or pitting so I felt comfortable using these instead of Ball Barron.

The only issue I have is incomplete powder coating of our lockdown bar (nothing like spending all this money for rust out of the box). Will contact our distributor to see what Stern will do about this.

This machine FLOWS so well. The shots are not clunky, the flippers feel great and it is pretty impressive how well it shoots out of the box. It is a FAST game, the english put on the balls makes for some crazy action.

The upper playfield is a huge success in my opinion. We are having so much fun controlling the ball up there and attempting to keep accuracy for those shots to 100%, it gets VERY intense progressing through the levels. The playfield is not static at all (pitch, yaw, roll whatever we agreed this technically is based on perspective) and feels like this is going to keep the game fresh. I've played the pro (at least $60 worth) at Birdfish in Ohio and the mini-playfield is worth the upgrade in my opinion. Don't get me wrong though, I LOVE the Pro and think it is probably one of the best values Stern has put out in some time (though I hope someone will put out a wireform kit for owners, yet another reason to have the Premium/LE).

The magnet for the Child needs to be dialed in (less power I think) as it only throws it back down the left orbit or into the area of the Razorcrest. It is a neat addition and feels like the Pro is a little emptier without it.

That "shadowesque" loop/scoop to ramp diverter is one of the most satisfying shots in the game. Flowing from one to another, especially when lit for a jackpot, is a great feeling.

The light show, music/sound design add to the overall intensity of the game... very well done. I love the Carl Weathers callouts and truly appreciate the effort into making a cohesive package for sound. Tough to appreciate this on the pro in a noisy bar, the home environment allows this game to shine.

The code, well, it feels like the least polished of all (though still very happy with the game). I look forward to updates, modes, and squashing some bugs present.

Are there still balls falling off the wire forms?

They must have fixed this before shipping. Played about 20 games so far and hasn't happened yet.

Great pics..

Welp, this pivoting upper pf has legs...
Waiting for stern to make a game with a pivoting pf that just goes 180degrees and pancakes the ball onto the main pf...

Nicely done with all the clear pics!! Great lineup as well, that basement looks like it's tons of fun! Congrats on getting this gorgeous LE!

#6030 2 years ago

Now, can't wait to receiving that Premium!! Yes, tried to get the LE, but I didn't win that 'distro list lottery', so couldn't get my name high enough on it!

#6031 2 years ago

@ p1nhead nice pics. your lineup is very similar to mine. And now I feel like I have to move my SW comic premium so its next to Mando when it comes....

#6032 2 years ago

I retract my statement about code - they will work out the bugs... the code is all there and does feel pretty polished considering all that is baked in there right now. after destroying my wife's GC score (and all other high scores) she was very happy to play cooperative mode with me. This pin is simply amazing in every aspect.

Congrats to the new owners the more I’m on the fence to buy a premium but seeing all the new in box machines and awesome pics of the LE aren’t making it easy. Need to find a location in SoCal to play one and make up my mind

Played a pro and still not sold on the upcharge for a premium yet. Hopefully one pops up in Arizona. The pro artwork looks great, just wish it had wire form ramps. That’s the big negative for me, but not a deal breaker by any means. Just need to play he premium upper playfield. The magnet does not interest me at all.

Did you find super jackpots at the horseshoe loop to be satisfying enough on the pro you played? The tactile 'clunk' of the premium’s horseshoe scoop for super jackpot just looks like it's super rewarding to me. That's only based on watching the deadflip streams, though.

As for the upper playfield, I'm expecting casual players will get a kick out of the upper playfield even if it's not super interesting to a more regular player. I love being able to point out small objectives like that to guests, watch them work towards it, and then see their excitement when they get there. It's no MM castle or AFM UFO, but the novelty is still there.

Definitely agree the magnet is underwhelming. Would have been cool to see a BSD style magnet there instead, with software randomly deciding which lane to drop the ball over. Hoping maybe they utilize it as a "lock" for 2-ball multiball at some point, that'd have more payoff and make it feel like something to shoot for rather than something that just kind of happens to you.

A single under pf magnet for random action like GOTG would have been nice touch as well.

Congrats to the new owners the more I’m on the fence to buy a premium but seeing all the new in box machines and awesome pics of the LE aren’t making it easy. Need to find a location in SoCal to play one and make up my mind

The have a pro at AYCE Gogi in West Hills for 75 cent play, just spent a few hours there. Not a fan of the plastic ramps but aside from that I ended up liking it more than expected especially since I've never seen the show. I haven't tried a Premium model but I feel I'd prefer the static playfield on the Pro as it will allow getting in and out of it more quickly. Although bear in mind I'm one of those that prefers AC/DC Pro and Black Knight Pro over the premium versions.

I found the game shots all exciting and satisfying, except the right upper shot with Mando’s helmet. The one flipper makes it an ok shot, but not great. I had no desire to get Mandalorian till I played it. I only saw the last four episodes of the show.

Disney killed Star Wars for me but man I loved the game. I am going back to play it again on Thursday to see if I still like it. Then if I do will pull the trigger. Only thing is pro or premium, but leaning towards a pro.

Any word on if the black speaker surrounds on the LE are metal or acrylic? In either case, do they allow light to shine through them if backlit?

Not sure if it makes a difference but I ordered an LE and I’m in Canada. No update about shipping anytime soon??

Question on current production Stern pins. Mando will be my first Stern. Are they using fiber board on cabs anymore? Pics here seem to show even the Mando Pro has a plywood bottom. When did Stern start doing that? It seems GB has an MDF bottom (2016)...

Stern upgraded all cabinets from Munsters going forward. All nice plywood and metal corner braced. No longer MDF and such. Big improvements!

#17 on the top 100! Haha. I know it's probably not a real possibility but I don't think reviews should count unless there are comments attached. I enjoy reading people's individual reactions to the game and feel like just throwing up a number by itself is akin to all those Human Resources surveys that I blast through without thinking

It should be renamed to the heavily manipulated “Stern Haters Lopped 100”, lol! That crowd won’t ever give any Stern a good review, lol. (Whether they’ve played it or not, doesn’t matter and not part of their rating thought process, as long as it’s kept down.)

Quoted from NashtyFunk:

I’d be shocked if the LE didn’t start in the top 5-7 and then settle around 13-15.

I’d be shocked if the Stern haters didn’t drop it undeservedly to around 25 to 30, just like they did on Brian Eddie’s other game, STH. Now STH is highly sought after in spite of it only rising to a manipulated position of only #23. Demand and sales alone tell us where a machine should be ranked. On that note, STH and Mandalorian should both be in the top 5, as they are both in high demand. STH was slow out of the gate, because so many Stern haters piled on it early and kept berating it, even though now, most everyone loves it and trying to find one to purchase. Mando will unfortunately fall into the same downward manipulated pathway of pinside.

In contrast, Spooky a very good company, has so much good will, no matter how well Halloween does or doesn’t shoot, it will be ranked higher than both Mandalorian and STH. Crazy how the exact same designer Brain Eddie of the top 2 rated games for much of the time, has done Mando and STH, which are both arguably every bit as good, if not better. But because they have the Bally/Williams label are given carte blanche. Granted they are both good games too!

Light shines through the speaker cone for sure

I guess we are using different terminology - the speaker surround is the butyl rubber interface between the cone and frame.

If you mean the frame, it appears to be metal and looking at my photos above, no light transmission. The cones, however, let plenty of light through (they glow with just the backbox lighting).

I preempted there Doug and bought dark blue from you in my last order. I think the dark blue will fit this game. The metal surrounds in led Zeppelin didn’t seem to make sense. I will be changing the black out regardless.

That LE looks stunning btw. Congrats!!! It looks way better now when in a lineup than in the promo pics. I’m excited for mine.

So after getting about 70 games in...

Yes, the balls still fly off the habit trail but only when hitting the U-turn with scoop activated - and not all the time, it has to be a clean and powerful shot (haven't had it happen from a cradle yet, only when fast down the left inlane or from the playfield and again, it is maybe one in 20 times).

I have a job for Sonic and his fabulous MRS. The pic attached is the right orbit, that switch, no matter how I adjust it will miss about 8/10 shots unless a slow roller (was 10/10, which sucks because it seems there is a plastic post that stays popped up back there until either the left or right orbit entry/exit switches are activated). So all the well placed shots into the right orbit are for not right now. At least I think this is the issue - maybe there is an opto back there that is already malfunctioning, I haven't taken a deep dive yet. I will say that plunging is clunky right now, I feel like I am getting caught up on something back there as some plunges make it to the point where you are over the apex of the curve and then they just roll back into the right orbit.

Hitting the miniplayfield ramp is so satisfying from right flipper or backhand with left BUT 3/10 times that ball will bounce from its staging position at the upper playfield and role back down the ramp.
