I've been looking at some repaints that people have done on their cabinets, I'm by no means trying to knock their work, but I've noticed this little detail missing.

I had one guy not know what it was when he was repainting his cabinet until I pointed it out to him. I also wasn't sure in the beginning, but now I know.

I think they are leaving it out because it's a very hard nail to find or they just don't know what it is and they leave it off.

This little nail is there to keep the coin return button from chipping the paint if you swing the coin door open too much. See picture

I'm sure no one ever thinks they will swing the coin door open too far until they accidentally do just FYI

    Quoted from High_End_Pins:

Often the coin eject button just slips past them and indents the cabinet right beside it.

Totally agree. It seems if you do not get it in just the right spot, and the little bit of play back and forth that comes from the coin eject button, it does just what you say. A slightly bigger version would be better

Yep my machines have those. And today I learned something new.

Glad to hear I helped someone today. I guess I did my good deed for the day.

It's a slightly bigger version of The Twist nail used in the side rails.

I haven't been able to find them and I'm not sure how they're sized maybe somebody else out there knows

Side rail nail on the left coin reject button tail on the right
