    Quoted from gdonovan:

    New York Times

    Quoted from gdonovan:

    CNN is lying?

Seriously, I find it completely ridiculous and mind blowing that anyone, "anyone" would, or could even entertain they may be getting truth from these sources, it's absolutely laughable.

    Quoted from fosaisu:

Luckily for the Times only half of the country lives in bizzaro world, so they're still able to sell a few papers. But since we're not going to convince each other of any of that, why don't we all just maintain focus on porch pirates, the surveillance state, and contrails?

I honestly can't name a news station/paper I'd have much trust in today. Sensationalism is the rule of the day, not real news.

My buddy has the ring system and it works well for what he wants but I like my system much better. I have a hard wire Swann system with 8 channels/cameras with infrared vision, a 2tb dvr that records 24/7 for 30 days before it starts to rewrite. I can review and if I want I can easily isolate, snip any section I want onto a disk or flash drive. I am registered with the police and give them snippets if they request them which has only happened twice in 8yrs.. Oh and you can set this to view on your phone or smart TV and to alert you when motion is detected if you want

    Quoted from Dooskie:

what are the costs for your Swann system? I am presuming there was an installation cost, a cost for the hardware, and then a monitoring cost. What has all of that run you?

I installed it myself, it was pretty easy. I have no use for a monitoring service as it records everything and has built in Blu ray and WiFi that you can set up with their app on your phone, tablet, pc, or tv. I set my cameras for motion detection when I'm not home and if someone comes within the camera field it will alert me on my phone and I can view it. I bought a kit from Sams Club years ago which had all the hardware etc. included for installation. The kit included enough cable for each camera to be located 100' from the DVR placement. Additional cable is easy to get too. All toll it cost me $450.00 for all of it but, I bought it when they were on special there and received $200.00 off so not on sale you'd pay $650.00. Spelled it's name wrong in my other post it's made by Schwann.

    Quoted from cottonm4:

Fear. The perp gets nothing but a hand slap, has a mean, vindictive disposition and knows where you live.

Depending on where you live they won't even have to post a bail, just walk out with a court date.

    Quoted from Dee-Bow:

They must of popped the lock (no glass on the street) and smashed the steering column or something

Sheese dude they don't even need to break the glass anymore. They have shown several thefts caught on camera here in Cincy and they just walk up and use some type of electronic gadget and it just unlocks it and will start it if you have that remote start feature installed. I know it sounds crazy but they said they just link to your fob and open it, so no one is safe from it unless you block the fob with metal of some type
