Sung to the tune of Amy Winehouses's "Rehab":
(see post #4 below for further info)

They tried to make me not buy Stern games
    I said, no, no, no
    Yes, it’s a crock
But if new in box, you know, know, know
    Happens every time
And if big Gary says it’s fine
They tried to make me not buy Stern games
    I’ll spend dough, dough, dough

I'd rather own new and HUO
So I’ll have somethin’ to show
'Cause there's nothing, there's nothing Pinside can say
That I can't hear from Jersey Jack all day

    I didn't get a lot in class
But I know that I want PDI glass

They tried to make me not buy Stern games
    I said, no, no, no
    Yes, it's a crock
But if new in box, you know, know, know
    Happens every time
And if big Gary says it’s fine
They tried to make me not buy Stern games
    I’ll spend dough, dough, dough

The man said, "What theme will you buy next?"
I said, "I got no idea."
I'm gonna, I'm gonna spend my money
So I keep my credit card near.
He said, "I just think you're obsessed."
This me "Yeah, baby, and the rest."

They tried to make me not buy Stern games
    I said, no, no, no
    Yes, it's a crock
But if new in box, you'll know, know, know

I don't ever wanna pay again
I just, ooh, I just need a friend
I'm not gonna save ten grand
Have everyone think I'm on the mend

    It's not just my pride
It's just 'til these tears have dried

They tried to make me not buy Stern games
    I said, no, no, no
    Yes, it’s a crock
But if new in box, you know, know, know
    Happens every time
And if big Gary says it’s fine
They tried to make me not buy Stern games
    I’ll spend dough, dough, dough

    TLDR

Confused, so I need to buy cocaine? Or no, no no?

    A quick note FWIW:

It struck me last night while listening to Amy Winehouse's song "Rehab", how a slight revision of its lyrics could make it pertain to Stern pinball addiction (from which I suffer) rather than drug addiction.

Offered on Pinside merely as a tongue in cheek alternative to the all too common "Done with Stern, new prices, etc." threads.

    Merry Christmas!

Suggest you change the title to "They tried to stop me buying Stern Games..."

You're gonna have to buy something powerful to listen to her shit music

I'm confused...are you still buying Stern games or not?

Thanks - that would be good. I tried to keep the wording as close to the original as possible though.

    Quoted from TheLaw:

I think Amy Winehouse had incredible talent and I like a number of her songs. I don't confuse it with her lifestyle though. Nor do I condone the choices she made that ultimately led to her death.

    Quoted from Rarehero:

I'm confused...are you still buying Stern games or not?

I anticipate that I will continue to selectively buy new Sterns on a limited basis for the forseeable future. But this thread isn't soley meant to be a personal statement.

I'm sensing sarcasm. If so, I'm sorry you feel that way.

I tried to make people more aware, and Stern for that matter, that there are more than a few people on to their little "game" and we're tired of it.
Also OP, no need to be sorry, I don't care what you post.

If this supposed to be a positive thread for Stern, it's a nice change. The constant negativity for Stern pinball has seeminlgly reached all corners of Pinside. For all those who feel Stern's pricing model, lack of code updates and apparent poor quality is entirely unacceptable, the answer is not to buy their games- at least not for the moment.
If Stern begins to experience declining sales, perhaps their pricing model will adjust or stabilize. It doesnt seem like the competition is in any rush to lower their pricing either.
In any event, this is just my opinion and I'm likely in the minority.
I love my Stern pins but I also really dig my B/W titles.
All in all, this is such an amazing hobby.

I sure do LOVE MET too Gryszzz and I wish I could do a rule set for it (as well as others), but alas ... no time.

Actually, although even fewer pinheads would probably care at this point, I'd still like to complete a final edition of my Mustang rules set as I've learned a few more things since I issued the last version.
