heard the one guy with the NOS ramp sold to someone else? bummer
I have a decent condition spare but am keeping it for my own game.

I sold my NOS one for 300 dollars about two years ago.

#52 7 years ago

You can't go wrong. I just saw a Judge Dredd at the Cleveland Show that a guy bought in project form for $600 and heaped thousands of dollars into--many thousands. It was THE MOST spectacular Judge Dredd I have ever seen. Probably some pictures of it out there some where. Ask me if I played it, though...

My favorite part of these projects is actually while you are cleaning it up. All of the dreams of how awesome it's going to play. The fun of bringing it back from the dead. When it's all cleaned up and playing its a little sad cause the game is always something like 'Pool Sharks'

Yeah the most recent one sold in mere instant of a second.

I have a feeling that a nice ramp will be the hardest part of this project. I have NOS plastics but am still on the hunt for a perfect ramp to put in my game.

Personally, I am on the hunt for more pics from lordloss.

Me too, I accepted a job in MN two weeks ago. So I'll be moving before I can do much more to her.

If anyone has a hp 4670 for sale, hit me up.

You have a lot of people dying to see what that playfield looks like.

#58 7 years ago

Agree send a pic of the playfeild after the clean up

#59 7 years ago

I have a package coming soon... very very nice package of parts. More pics to come

Frickin' sick looking machine!

Two steps from the dumpster is my kind of project. Tons of potential there! Watching...

#63 7 years ago

couple things, first off time machine is one of my favs for that era, I have owned it 3 or 4 times. when restoring a game its east to spend more than you can sell it for, same as motorcycles and hot rods. at least with pins, you can play it for 3 years and the price will have gone up at least 50%. anyway I hate pin economics. I have a nice used pf for that I think I sent you pics. if you didnt get them let me know.

also I have a HP 4670 that I wouldnt mind selling. Anyone who knows me knows that I dont like computers, which really sucks because the potential is endless in my job to use that scanner, but I dont really enjoy it. I have used it twice. PM me if interested. cheers

Yep, I got the pics. I sent out a few restoration requests to see if anyone wants to take on your pf. Its better than the one I have, so I'll probably grab it from you.

Small update, scored a very nice playfield locally and for a fair price.

What was wrong with the old playfield? Still haven't seen any pics of it?

He's probably taking it because it's more populated?

Will upload comparison pics soon. Part of the pf was pretty bad.

On the first day or Christmas my true love gave to me: 1 really nice backglass!

On a side note. I keep saying the parts for this game are really hard to find... I'm finding its more about who you know and where you look. Randomly looking online for parts will find you nothing, but talking to people and going to local pinball places yields a lot.

I'm down to 2 parts missing and thats the display board and the right LOCK ramp. Otherwise all the parts have fallen into my lap.

#72 7 years ago

Glad to see some progress made. Nice that you found another Playfield hope this will get you along you way.

#73 7 years ago

On the second day or Christmas my true love gave to me: 1 dusty, but complete lock ramp!

Cool project. I like Time Machine.

#75 7 years ago

Man, good hustle. Where are you finding all these parts?!
If it's from guys on here I'm super impressed one can still piece together a game through the community.
Especially with a production quantity of 2896, there's certainly not a lot left.

I wish it was from the guys here, when people hear about my need for parts they say "good thing i've got a spare ramp that i'll never use!" or if I message someone who literally has duplicate spares in bad shape, they wont respond and if they do respond they wont sell for ??? reasons.

I found the backglass through a friend of a friend and the lock ramp from a local place along with a few more goodies that i'll show soon.

Not sure, I'll be sending the PF out for HSA restore in a week or two. HSA said 1-2 months min for turn around.

I've still got to start work on the cabinet. I've been reading into wood restoration techniques and want to keep the cabinet.

I found the HP4670, $54 after ebay bucks. I'm not sure how people like Riddic trace and vector the scans, so I need to dive into that more.

It should be, I still have a few more days of christmas pics to show off. Moving into the new house today so i'm finally able to start taking pics again

Looks great so far. Congrats on finding the starwarp ramp. I hope freeplay40 gets them made at some point so we can all have a perfect one. That ramp takes a lot of abuse.

What is being restored? Should be retitled as a "replacement" thread. Its going to look incredible but I was looking forward to something else I guess.

Sorry. Reread my post and it read kindof douchey. I thought you had a nos playfield. I'm back on board.

I get what you're saying. I always see the HEP posts and wonder what the point is. He takes a new pf, new plastics, new decals, new everything.

I wanted to try my hand at a full restore, but keep the parts true to the game if possible. Hep usually does new cabs and Bryan kelly usually works with the old cab. In my mind, a high end restore means custom screens to apply paint directly to the cabinet. It might be crazy, but phoenix arcade screens their work, a restoration should make their own screens and have a clear coated cabinet.

This project also is unique because half the stuff was literally missing and were vital parts. It was also a project NOBODY would take on. I bought it for $27 and it'll be nice knowing so many other people passed up on this. There were a couple other machines with this game when it was brought in. A secret service, space shuttle, transporter, and harlem globetrotters.

I think this machine was even free if you bought the other games from the seller and still nobody wanted to take it on.

if it was an SF2 or an xfiles I'd say yes. but this is worth saving.

You find me a SFII, clear coat the PF, and i'll get my wallet out.

I wouldn't want SF2 tainting the aura of the other customer fields I have in house.

I was worried i'd say something to offend a restorer, sorry about that. I think you did say at one point something about some games being almost a reproduction. Not saying I can do any better at this point, but it'll be interesting to see how far I can take this.

Yes some games but far from all.It struck me when I read that, that you thought this was just a pointless parts replacement service so I want to make sure you know that is wrong. Not because I am offended but just because it is misleading.
Keep in mind I do all my own playfield and cabinet restoration work too.
Here are some pure restoration examples for you and good luck on your project it is a good ambitious one.

When I think of really well done pins, I would say your BK2K would have to be the best example I can think of. I havne't looked over a ton of your restore albums, but that one stuck out.
