My Fish Tales blows F104. I guess means that a solenoid is out. Interestingly enough, the fuse holder sparks when I try to insert a new fuse AND it shows a steady 5V even when the machine is unplugged. Now what is THAT about?

In addition to helping me figure out why the game is still powered, I would also be very grateful for pointers as to how I should approach the F104 low solenoid circuit. The game was very much a barn find, so I have not yet had it working.

I managed to figure out what has happened. It is a total disaster. The interlock switch wire has accidentally been fixed to the start button, so when the button was pressed there was a lot of high voltage all over the place. The result as it stands is that a few switches don't work. Furthermore, when testing the transistors on the driver board by the quick and dirty method, I have about ten TIP102's that have failed. Flippers don't work. God knows what more is messed up. So now I am going to debate whether I should try to fix the mess or spend my savings on new repro boards. But first I am going to lay down and cry. A lot.
