Quoted from vid1900:

I call out Hava Berman, you go girl!!!!
She builds Pinball machines and does roller derby.

Funny. I recognize that logo. It's for North Star Roller Girls. I was heavily into women's roller derby about 5 years ago, then got completely burnt out of it.

Looking at her Facebook, looks like used to be in the Violent Femmes. Small world!

I'll throw another name into the "Great women of pinball" list: Jennifer Peavler. Heavily active in tournaments.

Quoted from Aurich:

I buy her shoes and Coach bags. I gave up on Coach, she has more purses than she needs, but apparently it's impossible to have too many shoes.

I buy my GF high heels, but that's only because that's my other hobby besides pinball. She wants a Fish Tales, but that's a bit harder to come by compared to pair of 6 inch stilettos.

Her playing pinball in heels = win win. Easier to see the playfield.

Quoted from vid1900:

1. Pick a user name that proudly shows you are a woman!
Pinball_Polly, Girl Loves Waffles, Pin_Princess ..... Don't hide behind a man's name or go unnoticed with a gender neutral name.

vid, you have wonderful advice concerning repairs & restos, but you're not the spokesperson for getting women into pinball. Having an overly feminine name, in online gaming can often backfire. Suddenly white knighting and "show us your tits!" harassment comes out. Curtis_Playfield's a great pin handle, since the pun of it is something only a pinhead would understand.

Quoted from Aurich:

And no, the solution isn't more pics of men. That's really missing the point. This isn't about being a prude, or not admiring the female form. None of it bothers me in the slightest either, personally. But I'll admit that I find it somewhat embarrassing to be browsing the site and scroll past some gif of bouncing boobs when people walk past my machine.

I've long since stopped browsing pinside from work. This was before the image filtering. It would have only taken one NSFW pic by someone walking by before it becomes an "HR incident". I brought this up a while back about keeping pinside work safe, and got the expected knee jerk reaction from the good 'ol boys.

Perhaps posting images on pinside should be an earned privilege, not a given one. If you want to see tits & ass, go to a porn site.

TRIGGER WARNING: This off topic thread on the 2+2 poker forum contains images of beautiful Asian women in sexy poses.

Quoted from Craig:

Are there any bad women in pinball? (I'm not asking for names!) I've never met one.

If there are, the solution to that is to practice & play more.

Quoted from Geocab:

Hasn't helped my game.

Then you move onto phase 2: blame it on the machine. Question the leveling, ask when it was last shopped, ask others "are the flippers a bit weak to you?".

I just searched Plentyofish for some other hobbies that chicks are not into

-
We just have to face that fact that there are many hobbies that do not necessarily appeal to young females.

You can't force women to get into pinball, but don't drive out the ones(or might someday be interested in) that are. Just because there are aren't that many women into pinball doesn't mean it's "anti-chick".

If it's so anti-chick, why do you have so many pictures of women posing nude/semi-nude in front of pins? J/K

Let's take the "no girlz allowed" sign down.
