The original idea for this thread was "Themes to make pinball more appealing to women", but then it occurred to me, we are pretty much already there, and there haven't really been many manly themes in some time.

Everything being politically correct and family friendly as it is, doesn't really fill the need for what manly men like.

I mean things like hunting, fishing, shooting, boating, off roading, fighting, drinking, smoking, and all the things real men do.

So lets come up with some ideas to make this a man's game once again.

But if anybody else can, feel free to link any and all past games with manly themes such as Big Buck Hunter, Nascar, BMX, Frontiersman, Blackwater 100, Sportsman, etc, and those might inspire us with some new manly themes.

I'd take something along the lines of Road Show only a little more realistic -- more focus on the construction equipment rather than two large heads on the playfield. A couple excavators filling up dump trucks, a dozer leveling some ground, wheel loaders scooping up material. Focus on the Big Boy Toys playing in the dirt.

Unfortunately that sounds a lot like that Gold Rush show that I stopped watching like seven seasons ago because of all the lame drama that would shut production down. The pump ran out of gas, the nut came loose on the shaker, a big rock fell on the conveyor. . . TV loves to make something out of nothing.

Coils rigged to the flipper buttons and lockdown bar that produce an electrical shock when objectives are not met. Extra large shaker motor that "nudges back".

Full-contact pinball.

How about a BBQ/grilling theme?

Smokers, Wood Fired, Flat-top, Charcoal vs. Propane, Sauces, all sorts of details to fit in. . . you could have a carnivore version and a vegetarian/vegan option/version for diversity.
