Here's a list I compiled of themes I'd find interesting. Some of these are odd and would probably sell poorly and be a bad business decision for Stern. But I'd happily put any of these in my basement.

Generally, I see these as current classics, cult classics, and things that will age well.

    Blade Runner, original
    Tron, original
    Monty Python (MM, I know)
    Fight Club
    Archer
    Clerks
Pulp Fiction, Reservoir dogs or maybe Quentin Tarantino overall?
Evil Dead / Army of Darkness
    Shaun of the Dead
    Princess Bride
    SNL
    Office Space
    Mr. Robot
    Portal
    LED Zeppelin
    Beatles
    Bob Marley
    Bob Dylan
    Grateful Dead
    Alfred Hitchcock
    Ex machina
    Mel Brooks movies
    Beastie Boys

These are probably too bizarre, but I'll include these here just for me:

    Avett Brothers
    Blues, King Biscuit Flour Hour
    Deathrace 2000
    Raising Arizona
    Frank Lloyd Wright
    Tesla
    Stanley Kubrick
    Spaced
    Vincent Van Gogh
    Mystery Science Theater 3000
Standup comedy, not sure how this would work in pinball, but my favorites are: Andy Kaufman, Reggie Watts, Sarah Silverman, Mitch Hedberg, Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Bo Burnham, Eddie Izzard

I wish they would do a generic 80s band table that you would buy the custom backglass and call outs and music for. Def leppard, bon jovi, tesla, .38 special whatever. It could be awesome. Just makethe playfield music tour themed, guitar, bass, deums, groupies, etc..

    #3 2 years ago

I know I would really enjoy these themes jaws, iron maiden, ghost Rider, Deadpool, pulp fiction, and the good the bad and the ugly.

    #4 2 years ago

    Portal would be fun.
    Zelda would be fantastic.
Uncharted or Tomb Raider would be way cool.

Literally any video game theme. Considering the gaming industry is far larger than the film industry, I'm really surprised Stern (or others) haven't attempted to license one.

    #5 2 years ago

Jimi Hendrix with Zombie Yeti artwork.

    #6 2 years ago

    Metal gear solid
    Mighty morphin power rangers
    Bioshock

    #7 2 years ago

    The A-Team
    Knight Rider
    NHL Hockey
    Halloween (Michael Myers)
    Friday the 13th (Jason Voorhees)

    #8 2 years ago

I like lots of these ideas. More into horror themes than video games, but there are exceptions to the rule.

Would be interesting to add a little twist on this thread and not only list dream themes but which company people feel would do that theme the best?

    Quoted from J85M:

From the themes I said I would like the companies I would like to make them would be jaws/stern, ghost Rider/Jersey jack, pulp fiction/ highway or Dutch, Deadpool/highway, iron maiden/stern, and the good the bad and the ugly/ Jersey jack or highway.

    #11 2 years ago

I would love to see evil dead / AOD by Spooky.

    #12 2 years ago

NHL pin makes a ton of sense. Stupid Bettman...

    #13 2 years ago

I'd like to see JJP try a music pin. The video would be amazing. LZ? Beastie Boys?

I'd like to see them get away from kid-friendly themes. Toy Story? No thanks.

    #14 2 years ago

Btw, I meant Mel Brooks, not Albert Brooks. Oops.

How about a reboot of an Elton John themed game? Would that be too damaging to the legacy of Captain Fantastic?

IMO, if any band deserves a pinball machine, it's The Who.

    #16 2 years ago

Perhaps the only example of a ruined attempt at pinball worse than The Who is The Rolling Stones. Such a shame. At least Tommy is a somewhat decent game. Rolling Stones's game is nowhere near deserving of the greatness of that band.

    #17 2 years ago

Haha. World's most offensive pin waiting to happen?

    #18 2 years ago

And I think Captain Fantastic is probably a better game than Elton John deserves.

    #19 2 years ago

Gomez says Archer by Elwin is unlikely. That's a shame.

    #20 2 years ago

    +1 for Raising Arizona!

How about some of the old Atari 2600 games like Pitfall and River Raid?

I think a battleship or sub hunt style theme would do well too...

    #21 2 years ago

    BTTF
    Goonies
    Lost Boys
Any Marvel or DC Super Hero Theme
    Seinfeld
    Halloween theme (Holiday-not the movie)
    Munsters
    80's Music Theme
    Breaking Bad
    Kong
    Jurassic World
Golden Tee Pinball with trackball on lockbar for video mode
Mission Impossible with timed hurry ups
    Bond 007
    Harry Potter
the list go's on and on......

    #23 2 years ago

    Movies
    - The Matrix
    - John Wick
    - Zombieland

    TV
    - Breaking Bad

    Music
    - U2

    Video Games
    - GTA

How about a current, cool SP? Seems like a no brainer

Could the current version undergo a "vault" treatment, with major code updates to improve it? I agree, potentially great theme, but needs a lot of help.

    #26 2 years ago

How about these (trying not to duplicate others ideas in this thread)

    Movies:
    Deadpool

    TV:
    Futurama

    Music:
    Queen

    Video Games:
    Mario Kart

    #29 2 years ago

    I want:

    -Zelda

    and

    - Who Framed Roger Rabbit

    #30 2 years ago

Surf or Ocean theme for me

    -1
    #31 2 years ago

with zero regard for the actual marketability of any of these games (most are pretty niche), here are the themes i'd personally love to play:

    Firefly/Serenity
    Mystery Science Theater 3000
Portal 1/2 (the GLaDOS callouts would be epic! and portals lend themselves perfectly to lots of VUKs and subways)

or ... how about Pinside Pinball? seems like there'd be a decent sized audience for that if the humor was done well! Moderator Multiball! Smack A Troll! timed 6-ball reverse-flipper "drunken posting frenzy" mode!

    #32 2 years ago

    I would like:

    Get Smart

    Ren and Stimpy

    #33 2 years ago

Guardians of the Galaxy seems like it'd be a good safe bet for Stern.

    #34 2 years ago

    Rick and Morty

    King of the Hill

I guess you mean besides the machine Tommy?

    #37 2 years ago

    MadMax

On the plus side, he made it sound like the layout will be used but rethemed

I was thinking the same thing. Been there, done that.

Some of the games mentioned in this thread have already been done as one-offs, or are suggestion of reboots of themes already done. I get just as tired of this as seeing forty different movie versions of a comic book hero. Although I like my rock bands and movies, I prefer original ideas and art for pins. I know licensed is what they prefer to make, but I'd like too see original themes like Fathom or Taxi over another rock band, movie or rehashed Marvel superhero.

    Ren and Stimpy

    Vitamin F Multiball!

    Take my money!!!!

The Thing - great 80's horror vibe.

Anyone who knows music should realize Tommy doesn't touch ANY of The Who's depth of great catalogue of music from the 1960's - 1980's. I would buy one for sure.

How about a JimmyBuffett/Margaritaville themed machine?

    #46 2 years ago

Pink Floyd, welcome to the machine.

    #47 2 years ago

There's a huge cult following behind Rick and Morty. Great show. It kind of like a twisted Back to the Future with a lot more sci fi action and adult humor.

    #48 2 years ago

    Running Man
    Total Recall
    Predator
    Blade Runner
    Evil Dead
Mad Max based on 2 and Thunder Dome (need Master Blaster Multi Ball)
    Castle Wolfenstein
    Doom
    GTA
    Darksiders
StarTrek based on the OG cast films (all of them) but would be happy with just Wrath of Khan
    StarWars Darkside LE
    DeadPool
    Slayer
    Motorhead
    Black Sabbath
    anything Kung Fu style
Japanamation films, Ninja Scroll, Fist of the Northstar too many to mention
so many more that should be made but never will.

    #49 2 years ago

Haven't seen it listed yet, but my favorite of the 80s movies themes would be Highlander, the original movie not all the so-so stuff that came afterwards. Has added bonus of awesome Queen soundtrack.
