    you missed a couple

    Not really...

IMO he hasn't made a decent game since the turn of the century.

btw- this is coming from a place of LOVE for PL's pinball games....

I think Futurama would be a cool theme..

Hooters is starting to win me over

    #305 3 years ago

Except a Hooters pin would be banished to the basement for discussion....

Under the current management, apparently the only BOOB allowed in the general forums is Kaneda....

I know these things take a while but shouldn't JJP be revealing any new info about the JJP Pat Lawlor pin? Do they do that kind of stuff at pin conventions? Is there one convention is better for revealing new info than another? I bet just like anyone else here, we're dying to know anything new about it. I mean it has been over 2 years since they announced Pat joined the team and was designing the next JJP pin

    No.

They still have WOZ and Hobbit rolling off the line, and they want to sell those. Doesn't make a lot of sense to start hyping their next game, which based on past performance could be years away from light of day. Pinball manufacturers have always gone out of their way to keep their next title quiet.

I said the same thing about Ghostbuster / Spiderman VE, but Stern proved that theory wrong.

Would anyone complain if Funhouse 2: Rudy's Revenge actually happened? I wouldn't.

Ha! It did, but they called it "Tron"!

No. There are changes at JJP and I suspect we'll see a reveal and go into production the following month.

But how many years will "production" take this time?

We're all anxiously awaiting a new Lawlor pin, but let's learn from history.

Lloyd, I love ya man. And I love JJP. But no matter how many times this gets said, until it actually happens once, nobody will believe it.

I would think with each new pin, development/production time decreases.
Who know's how far along they are, I assume they have been working on it for some time now.

Let us not forget the new investors. And the changes in NJ. They are gearing up for two titles a year.

Understood. The proof is in the pudding. And we'll see it happen.

Depends how long it takes to find a new group of investors

    Quoted from vid1900:

The recent ones are more than adequate. No new ones needed.

About a month and a half ago a famous pinball person told me that "they are in it to win it".

And the changes going on, in NJ and Chicago, I believe him.

Do you think that it will take also 2-3 years to see the next JJP?

No. I suspect by the end of this year.

Now that would truly be impressive.

    #323 3 years ago

    Maybe an Expo reveal?

    #324 3 years ago

Is Timeshock possibly the next title from JJP? Seems like it'd fit their production facility (complex wide body), seems like Pat wanted to bring it to market or -someone- was talking about making it a production game. . .

You mean in production or just theme reveal?
It cannot be in production coz they would open to place order now

You're telling us Jersey Jack will go from producing two games every 5 years to two games a year? That would seem quite amazing to me. The original plan was for 1 game a year and that seems like the way to go while still manufacturing older titles as demand allows.

    Yes.

    Quoted from colonel_caverne:

You are right. What do I know. Companies wanting to get closer to production before taking orders and lessening aggravation and wait. Never work.

New investors, new people, new goals.

Seems to me that once Hobbit production started, they are coming out a lot quicker than Woz.
Don't forget only one line is being used if they open up a second then two titles could be made concurrently or at a minimum be set up whilst the first is still producing, saving weeks on down time.
Good news if it pans out.

God damn the original theme Pat Lawlor pin better be a grand slam. The new Lawlor JJP game and the Zidware titles are what have me really excited for future pinball and unfortunately the latter of these two is a big question mark.

Maybe they just wanted to rain on TH's parade - and what a good job they did!

Are you suggesting Silver Castle Pinball will use JJP for production of their game?

At the Chicago Pinball Expo in 2002, Pat Lawlor was asked at a fireside chat which of his designs was his favorite.

    He said, "Earthshaker!"

However, a week ago at the SFGE, Jack shared that Pat's game is not a concept that he has done in the past.

He also stated that it's not something that Pat always wanted to do when he was at WMS either.

So, in other words, forget everything that you know about Pat Lawlor!

Is pats game still in the pipeline? The "epic" announcement was made years ago.

    #335 3 years ago

Well, if Jack was talking about it last week, I'd assume so.

    Quoted from SilverBallz:

Yes! Jack talked about it in his lecture last week at the SFGE.

He was very, very excited about it!

    #337 3 years ago

I also had a great talk with Jack at SFGE. Jack of course couldn't reveal anything about Pat's pin, but
did mentioned that a November announcement was coming.
