The trap door makes a loud squeak when it ejects a ball or when you shoot a ball into it. Is there any way to quiet it down so that it's not so loud?

Many have tried....and many have given up. There was a fairly long thread on this a few years back. I tried every fix that some said worked and could never get rid of it. I joined the ranks of "given up".
I rubbed a silicone lubricant on the flat metal surface with the tab on it. It comes is a tube and dries but keeps it lubricating properties. I no longer have a squeak.
Ok, I'll try the silicon lube on a Qtip and rub it on any of the metal parts that might make contact. I've lubed the springs holding the trap door flap and that helped just a tiny bit.
Was just hoping someone had a miracle cure or something...
