ColorDMD Displays LLC, a manufacturer of color replacement displays for pinball machines, is excited to announce Theatre of Magic as the next title and ninth multicolor release for the ColorDMD platform. The company also produces a SIGMA (single-color) product allowing customer selection of color and display effects, and the company recently announced support for Stern SAM and Whitestar platforms.

New displays are working their way through production now and targeted for release in late November or early December. The multicolor ROM for Theatre of Magic will be available on the company's website immediately following this production release.

My wallet thanks you for not yet giving IJ or WCS their proper ColorDMD love.

Seriously, TOM owners should be dancing a jig. Looks awesome!

#14 4 years ago

Awesome! I know you posted it somewhere in a thread here on pinside, but when do you anticipate the sigmas being back in stock? Your website has the last release still. I have to get one on my TOM before Christmas!

#15 4 years ago

Dot cleavage looks so much better in color ....nice work, jealous of TOM owners

#16 4 years ago

Saw this a few weeks ago at our League meeting.. "AAAAMAZINGGGG"

#17 4 years ago

It says in the OP (Maybe he edited it).

That's part of the fun, all the details you missed in monochrome orange.

Also a dove, a tiger, a cow, and the snack bar guy from Creature.

#21 4 years ago

Almost wish I still had my TOM!

This looks like one of the best ones and really suits the game.

#22 4 years ago

Woohoo!

When will Sigma be in stock again?

Why so many issues with stock in general, it seems you are leaving a significant amount of money on the table?

p.s. Please work with PPS to allow a color dmd in the future for MMR, thanks!

We're targeting all displays back in stock late November or early December. We've had displays in stock throughout most of the year with a few gaps in inventory lasting 4-6 weeks. The wait hasn't been too long and has kept production expenses reasonable.

We're experimenting with shifting assembly over to contract manufacturing instead of doing it ourselves and this may help to reduce gaps in the future.

#27 4 years ago

Thanks for the update, really want to pick one up!

"Here's your hot dog!"

With no risk of a choking fatality? What kind of justice is that.

#29 4 years ago

Looks fantastic!!!! Keep up the good work!!

You should really produce more per batch now that you are actually coming up with new titles again. Each one of those brings some subset of the thousands of owners of each machine who had no reason to buy a display before, and now do. It seems like the CFTBL batch was gone in a few days.

#31 4 years ago

looks great, now when are you announcing the next title?

#32 4 years ago

That looks great!

#33 4 years ago

Managing inventory is hard. It's easy to say "just order more!" but you're not the one who has to pay for every unit and sit on them waiting for sales. I've had just the smallest taste of it all doing this Shadow translite project and it was kinda stressful. Makes me grateful my normal work is all digital and doesn't involve stocking things!

#34 4 years ago

Mark me down for one, whenever it is available.

#35 4 years ago

Have you ever considered putting the next machine to get colorized up to a vote?

I would vote IJ and gladly preorder in full.

not a bad Idea. I vote TSPP

It's a lot more complicated than that.

We start by writing down the names of all the games left to be done.
Then we spend a lot of time collecting data and evaluating prior sales and production numbers.
We consult with long time industry veterans and marketing experts. It's a grueling process.

Then, and only then, we get out this hat...

#38 4 years ago

Is it true you still have a ways to go before you produce a full color DMD for any Stern title?

Is the hat a fedora?

Yes, that's true. Getting SIGMA to work on Stern was a big step. There's still more that I need to do to port the full color processing. It's coming.

#41 4 years ago

Color DMD to go with my color LEDs. Sweet!

Okay, that redeemed your crummy clues.

Am I going to have to learn how do this to make Shadow happen?!

#43 4 years ago

I cant wait to update the colordmd already in my Theatre! I need it now! lol

#44 4 years ago

Did I miss where you stated *when* Theatre of Magic would be available for download?

#45 4 years ago

As always, great work! Your displays add a level of awesomeness to the older games.

#46 4 years ago

Randy, Please hurry and make the next batch of displays. I NEED to spend my money by the end of next week. LOL

#47 4 years ago

BTW The unofficial announcement was fun.
Thanks for putting on a show.

#49 4 years ago

I love ColorDMD but how do you do business with no product? Everything shows sold out.
