Cheers

still looking for a set of wire ramps - let me know what you have..

#1546 7 years ago

from those pics i agree it looks very purple, from ipdb - however red notorious colour to get good digital pics on so might be worth at a different angle - light also very different.

Quoted from Robl45:

Definately the saw blade with the home rom. But try to build yourself as the price for the kit is insane.

you don't need the home rom, 1.3 is fine with it but that and colordmd is the best mod.

#1648 7 years ago
Quoted from Robl45:

1.3 does not let the game control the tigersaw.

It does on mine! Will post a video tomorrow!

#1650 7 years ago

Actually found this video of the wife playing... she hits the saw ball and it starts up.

Quoted from Frogman:

Does anyone here have the ColorDMD LED display or have played on a machine with the display? I have a LCD on my Spider-Man and really like it. I used the "dots" setting, which is the reason I'm thinking about the LED. Feedback or thoughts?

yup LED was made for this machine IMO, on this vid it flickers but doesn't when viewing.

video of the wife playing...

Quoted from chuckcasey:

So just to make sure, in the video is the LED ColorDMD display?
Not the LCD.
the LED is brighter and $30 cheaper. Agree?

Yes LED in the video I posted.

Its brighter.

its a great machine - enjoy!

quick thoughts on "trunk magnet does not always work"? i'm probably going to check out a TOM tomorrow with said issue disclosed.

loose connection to faulty power board...

Quoted from jyeakley:

Anybody have a pinsound board in their TOM? I see a new upload as of 1/20 to the pinsound forum...interested to hear what it sounds like!

I had one in my ToM but the sound mix was just standard and it seemed a waste - however - you can download it and play the music in VLC, looks like someone added different music, sounds good.

Cheers,
Neil.

Quoted from tdunbar:

Any interest if Just3dMods made a real lifelike 3D Tiger to replace the flat 2D Tiger? Know you want to see it but thinking of doing it so no prototype but here is Simba for CV we did. Would not be black but yellow with black stripes and would look similar to the 2d plastic. Front paws would be placed the same as 2d so owners can keep the spinning blade option? Yellow eyes light up when blade turns?

hell yes but spinning blade is a no lose mod.

Quoted from FatPanda:

Wow. Shipping got mixed up and someone else got my machine! The other pinsider ordered a TAF and both machines were shipped at the same time but he ended up with my ToM. All the shipping labels had my info nice and big. Im located in Madison, WI and they delivered to Virginia! Just wow.

sorry to hear, had a similar thing happen but with an arcade PCB!

I guess the shipping company are going to sort it out?

Whilst on the subject of the trapdoor - when it ejects the ball where should it go? And how does one adjust it? Quite often it goes sdtm on mine.

before you do that frogman. on the boards in the backbox, reseat the connectors.

when mine did this, both flippers at the same time would trigger it often.

Quoted from pinballinreno:

Mirco has new ToM playfields available right now, they arent perfect but they look ok. It might be the best option, you might get one while they last.
Restorers have an very difficult time on these. if you have cracking on the trick inserts, its near impossible to do a clean touch up.
So its a toss up, lower quality repro or noticeably touched up repairs possibly at high prices.
Alternatively there do exist, a very few original cearcoated NOS playfields if you got the money to pry them loose.

where?

Quoted from Ben1981:

Beautiful machine! Only thing left is the 3D translite, that's a real eyecatcher!
Do you have the lcd or led color dmd? I want to buy one but can't decide which one would look better in my tom.
Cheers

I have LED - no pictures/video do it justice and I love it - colours are so bright hutnbith are good. Also have the 3D translite and it's beautiful!

Unlikely that ToM is remade in the next couple of years.

Current favourites for announcement Q1 next year

Monster Bash
Cactus Canyon
The Addams Family

I've got MMR and AFMR on the way and I have MB and ToM and I'd trade them in a flash for remakes they are so well make and play so great.

what rom do you have?

Quoted from adamross:

Can anyone speak of their experience using the rotating tiger saw mod from pinball pro or any of the other available kits?

I got mine from PDI - I think the pinball pro is the same one but incase it isn't I'd avoid PDI.

its expensive to buy, but is made incredibly cheap, like $30 at most! My saw fell off the motor and was impossible to re-centre so it goes a bit wobbly. Great idea but so cheaply made. shame really.
