I am in process of restoring a routed beater. Will post pics when completed. TOM is the eye candy of pins for sure.

I completed a full restoration on my TOM. Thanks to all on Pinside that answered my TECH posts.
This is my 3rd restoration and my latest addition to, what some would call, my “cookie cutter” collection; or what I like to call, pins that are fun-to-play-very-popular-and-easy-to-sell/trade-and-that-have- lots-of-parts-available collection.  I started with a routed TOM and have about 240 hours of labor into it. It was in working order but in rough shape overall when I bought it. However, the side cabinet art was in very good shape. I did replace the head and front art with reprod decals. Overall PF condition was about a 5. I ended up sending the PF out to be restored and clear-coated. Brass plating was done by Mike Chestnut. Everything else I either restored back to new condition or replaced with new parts. The cabinet was gutted and repainted. Happily, I had no issues with the trunk assembly after cleaning out the old gear grease and re-assembling with new Opto and Eddy boards.

The mods I added:
- Brass legs/bolts, side trim, lock bar, hinges/bolts, glass channel bar, shooter housing, entrance ramp, buttons, and flippers.
- Tiger Saw + Mirror Mod with Yellow bulb covers
- 100% LED’s (555 & 47 CT Retros + Flashers)
- Fidelity Flipper Speakers
- Magic Hat & Rotating Card Mod
- Black Walnut Clock Tower
- Black Velvet Inner Cabinet Panels
- Dual Lit Wands wired to outlane magnets
- Lighted shooter rod (red/blue)
- Illuminated Dice
- Trunk Chain
- Entrance Ramp Light strip
- Trunk LED
- Trap Door LED
- Aluminum Trunk Opto Interrupter
- Cliffy Ramp Protectors
- Plastic Protectors
- Custom Stand Up Target Decals
- Felt leg protectors
- Cheesy Rabbit in a Hat topper

Quoted from Digimatt:

Nice job kmoore88! I'm debating doing the velvet inside mine I've seen the red but Black looks and sounds interesting. Does it make the GI seem darker?

Thanks.

I don't think the black velvet has much effect on the lighting. I went with black as I thought the red would have a narrowing effect, perspective wise, on the playfield.

Quoted from audihere:

kmoore88, AWESOME ToM!! Incredible attention to detail.
How about this mod? http://shop.colordmd.com/colordmd-replacement-display-for-theatre-of-magic-pinball-machine/

Thanks. I have a color dmd for my MM and I like it alot. But for TOM, i think the orange fits just the way it is, so I'm not inclined to go color on this one. i feel the same about SS with the red dmd lens.

Quoted from mwong168:

Based on kmoore88's other TOM mods he probably bought the Entrance Ramp light strip from Andy aka judge-dreads-pinball on ebay. You can see more pics of it here:

Correct, that's the one.

Quoted from jathomp22:

Is there a good way to reinforce the trunk so it doesn't keep breaking? Also who sells the best trunk or are they all the same and will all break at some point.

A bead of hot glue along the bottom, inside edges.
