I do have some of these if anybody wants cool real working brass locks with key, have no idea what they are worth since it would take me several trips to mail each one? That one on the right 2nd from top looks weird but it still has some plastic wrap on it. Tell me what you would pay and if reasonable will ship them maybe 5 at a time to any one who wants one or more. I was thinking maybe 10 including shipping? They are small and the lock itself is 1" x 1" and the hasp or hook is 1/2" so overall 1" wide x 1.5" tall. So almost the same size shown in the picture below. Really shiny and new.

BTW has you all seen Just3dmods "BB Barbara" look for her under that topic here.
If anyone has any ideas for TOM mods let us know and we do have one called Lighted Spirit cards.

Maybe make up some of these 3d tiger mods.
I think originally the game was supposed to have a better tiger.
They were made in very limited quantities by hand before 3d printers were widely available.

My wife now plays more than I do on my ToM. We'll see what happens when my TOTAN arrives. Kind of scared...total protonic reversal?

#1715 7 years ago

I finally beat the GC score my cousin put up last year. Oh what a feeling. I was getting so nervous when I knew I was getting close. Finally have my initials back at the top on all my pins.

FatPanda looks awesome!

Thanks! I added the missing bulbs under the right ball guides if you noticed

#1722 7 years ago

Has anyone experienced the trap door opening and closing really quickly when it's supposed to stay open? The basement effectively shoots balls out and stays open long enough for this to happen, but doesn't stay open when I hear the audio cues to shoot for the trap door. Suggestions?

Also, much of the time when video pinball is activated, the real (physical ball) is still in play on the playfield. Shouldn't the ball be suspended or locked somewhere while the video portion is being played?

Thanks to anyone or takes the time to respond.

It sounds like a flakey subway switch check them in switch test and see if they are working correctly

#1724 7 years ago

Whilst on the subject of the trapdoor - when it ejects the ball where should it go? And how does one adjust it? Quite often it goes sdtm on mine.

#1725 7 years ago
Quoted from NeilMcRae:

I have mine going to the right flipper.
Adjust it to hit roughly the high middle of the flipper, with variation in the game it will hit lower but not STDM.

For me adjustment was some bending, some warping and tweaking of the trap door assembly.
Also wear and tear makes the assembly sloppy and inconsistant.

After 6000 plays I finally ordered a new assembly from mantis and its rock solid, plays like new.

Can someone show me where these two wires should go? These are from the light in the trunk and it appears that they have been snipped for whatever reason.

I ran the test. When the solenoid test says something like trap door "up" the door opens and closes immediately. Is that the expected behavior during the test or should it stay up?

The test just bumps the door quickly on mine also.

Did you test each individual switch that was in the subway manually?

#1730 7 years ago

joined the club! Quick question. What detects when the ball goes into the trunk? I am having no problems at all with the game detecting hitting the trunk, but not when it goes in to start modes, jackpots, etc.

There is an optical transmitter and receiver on either side of the inside of the trunk cavity. Try cleaning it first (maybe a cotton swab and alcohol). If it still fails, you may need to replace the optical components. I ended up replacing mine because the do go bad after a while.

Any thoughts on how to fix a squeaky trap door? Its the flap and the springs that squeak.

Hey there. Yes, I have experienced this (trap door opening and shutting without sending out a ball), when one of the switches in the subway wasn't registering properly (it was stuck).

I'm having a self-caused issued with one of the outlane eddy sensors:
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/eddy-sensor-issue-tom

Basically, the sensor trips (when activated by hocus pocus) when the sling activates. I dripped some solder onto the pot-meter but didn't realize it until after playing. cleaned it off and the problem still persists. The problem followed the board from the left to the right. Any thoughts?

Get a pair of the pinbits auto eddy boards for the outlanes they are worth every penny the one for the trunk is a must too but the original trunk eddy board doesn't go out as often as the outlanes do

They dont have them in stock. But i was able to resolve the issue. There was just another tiny bit of solder on the chip (?) that is on the eddy board. Cleaned it off and it works again!

A lot of the time they show on their website as out of stock but if you call them they most likely have them in but haven't updated the site. That's what happened when I got mine.

I'll keep that in mind if/when i decide to upgrade the boards. Other than my stupid error, they've been pretty good. No nail polish in the house though! lol

Just have to say again that the flow of this game is so great! I reached Grand Finale for the first time yesterday and nailing all the shots was so satisfying

A must do in my book. You can "cheat" otherwise by starting illusions without shooting the trunk hole.

jyeakley Thanks!
I don't recall ever seeing this error occur on my ToM. ...at least while I was playing.

That's quite a unique machine. A time capsule, really.

I'm curious, are there any colored incandescents? It's really a rare opportunity to see how these machines were shipped. Also, I find it really interesting that the targets that sit on either side of the center ramp have no decals/stickers on them. I always wondered if they came that way.
